PDC 2008 - Windows 7

currently still on that on my gaming pc too

only because of the #### creative xfi sound in older games in vista

I gave up with Creative a long time ago with the SBLive! and XP compatibility issues (cracky poppy sound).

to be fair, they didn't really see vista coming at the time the xfi was made, but they've not exactly hurried up with a better solution..

getting a xonar on the weekend, will tell you how that goes

I got my SBLive! working with XP but only after Microsoft released an emergency update on Windows Update in about January 2003 to fix it :p

What's wrong with Realtek HD sound? My motherboard has some 888ALC chipset on it with ~100dB signal margin :) SPDIF output etc... what more could you want considering sound on Vista is all hi-def anyway and sampled at 64-bit and sound drivers are pretty much now redundant.

Problem with mine is it only comes out one side of my speakers on my stereo, I've tried all the ports, but with my audigy 2 it comes out of both sides, but I have to put up with slurring every hour or so for a few seconds. Which I add doesn't happen on XP only Vista. But I love Vista so no chance of going back to XP now it irritates me lol.

I get interference on my onboard (only slight, but it's there and I hear it through my headphones when moving the mouse etc), I've only ever had one board that had no interference through onboard; the ones with soundstorm :(

plus you still need realtek 3d soundback :/

Seems like Windows 7 is coming on well. Would be nice if MS give some kind of discount for us users who brought Vista soon after it release, dispite the bad press to this day but I doubt it.......I wonder if Windows 7 will have a proper boot screen this time:rolleyes:

They do, it will be called "Windows 7 Upgrade"

Ahmen to that, It would be an epic fail to release a 32 bit version of this.

But by not releasing an x86 version, Microsoft would be both turning their backs on developing country markets, low powered devices and severely restricting their penetration into the netbook market too.

The Atom is a 64bit CPU isn't it?

find me a cpu capable of running vista well that doesn't have 64bit and dual core..
