EA Ties Forum Accounts to game accounts.

Snippet from the ToS:

"f you sign up to play EA games through Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE Service, Microsoft will provide your Xbox LIVE user account information to EA so that we can establish an EA Online account for you. You need an EA Online account to play EA’s Xbox LIVE titles. By signing up to play EA's Xbox LIVE titles, you agree that Microsoft can transfer your user account information to EA. Information transferred from Microsoft to EA includes your name, address, e-mail address and date of birth but does not include credit card number or other financial account information."

I think i'll just NOT use their forums thank you. Pretty bad.

orange box was to do with EA aswell snowdog + you can add mass effect to ma list:)

As for the Need for speed yes NFS pro street was ***p but the new one coming out Need For Speed Undercover will be V cool as it is like NFS MW with cops:cool::D

Only if you bought a retail copy, I got half of it for free on steam and bought the other half of the games in the OB from steam :).

First see, then believe, I just want simple yet many tuning things in. Not like carbon with sliders but just loads n loads of pre-set bumpers and stuff for example... Didn't ''really'' like the cops in MW, but I did like them back in Hot pursuit 2... Anyways I always welcome good car games, but I have lost my faith in the NFS series a while ago...

I suggest you play both before including them in some rant against EA.:)

Fair comments about the rest of them though.

I guess, don't know about dead space doesn't look like my type of game from pics in the high res ss thread... Just a bit tired of sci fi shooters ( that includes stuff like hl2, just bored with most future based games), bring back good old days of WW2 ( thank god for cod:waw being cod4 set in ww2, looking forward to it :D).

Mirrors edge: All I have seen of that game up to date is an asian girl and a few pics of a city, I don't even know what type of game it is, I hope it's good, but with EA, I don't get my hopes up for anything any more...

I haven't looked yet, but I can guarantee that the next Penny Arcade comic will be about this ;)

EA really are beginning to deserve all the hate they get!

Ive been boycotting EA for years. Refused to buy any game developed or published by them.

They are a disgrace to the gaming industry.

Surely this just means that:

a) people won't but their games and instead will just download them illegally.

b) Their forums will completely die and another non-affiliated EA forum will arise to take its place that EA have no control over.

c) Some one gets their forum account banned and then sues EA for banning them from using a product that they have paid for!

Well thankfully I've never even signed up to one of their forums so don't have to worry about that although ironically I'm sure a lot of people would be tempted to go and spout off about this little fiasco on the EA forums :p

Will defo steer well clear of their forums now that's for sure.

Pathetic really, more reasons to keep away from EA and just pirate their games in revenge. Why pre-order when you can pre-download ...

I from my quick scan o the post's I dont like the sound of this, what happens if you post a complaint about a product on the forum and get banned.

so whats everyone going to do when they release Battlefield 3 ? ? ? *

i wonder if EA are just trying to find a way to ditch the PC market due to the insanely high levels of piracy ? reprocussions anyone ?

i dont agree with piracy but this news is just going to antagonise legit people who purchase their software and make them consider how they 'obtain' their games in the future ..

its a shame that EA seem to publish all the major releases these days, thank geez we have steam as an option
