I want to do something good next summer

Ok i'm pretty dead set on Australia next year, think i'm gonna do it through http://www.ozexperience.com/.

Anyone had any experience with them?

Go over to lonely planet forums , just do it on your own. think about it , its an english speaking country , Australians are well known for been friendly. Book yourself into a hostel for 7 days or whatever and take it from there.

Do you really need a company to tell you how to have fun in the sun ...???

Sorry to hijack your thread a but. I'm hading out to new zealand in january. Planning on spending 6-12months there. You got any advice about where to go etc? thanks

If you're spending so long there then I'm sure you'll definitely get to see everything anyway. Having been to pretty much all of the major places (only spent 2 months there though), I'd say if I were to live out there, I'd probably want to be based on the south island around Wanaka or Queenstown. Probably more the latter, if you're wanting to party a lot.

I did write a longish Facebook message to a mate with my general route and recommendations on where to go. Happy to email it to you if you want? Just click on my sig to send me a mail so I don't clog up the thread.

thanks very much ill send you an email now :). Plan on spending the whole ski season at a ski resort you that will take up a few months

Sorry! Got south america planned at some point over the next couple of years so you'll get an update then.

Going to give your blog a read tomorrow. Did you book this holiday with a company? You keep mentioning we/us in the first few entries, whos that?

Booked flight through STA travel who I was very happy with, trailfinders is the other big name in RTW travel so may be worth takign a look at them.

Went on my own but was meeting mates along the way - the blog's a relatively toned down version of events as I only ever expecting my mum to read it. If anyone's doing a long trip like this I'd advise getting a diary and try to stick to filling it in at least every couple of days, was reading mine the other day and there was so much in there I'd otherwise have forgotten about.
