I had no idea about CISS, totally awesome! My grandpa prints pictures of boats all the time as he was in the Navy, he's gone through at least 5 printers, its always cheaper to buy a new one in our case. I'd be interested in CISS this time it runs out =]

I have no idea where I should get a CISS from for my IP4200 though. It uses the same inks as a IP4000 so I assume can get one of those CISS too but I want to know of a good quality system to purchase anyone reccomend anything?
At the moment that's the only thing stopping me just because I don't want to end up with some cheap kit that lets air in all over the place.

Look for refillable cartridges first.
I can't express enough how many vendors have stopped selling CISS because of the returns.
Refillables hardly ever go wrong.
(Refillables are empty cartridges that you fill yourself with the same ink you put in the CISS)
That's what they were selling in the shop I went into today because they were so reliable. A 3 year warranty with the HP Photosmart C5100 and they're own refillables.
Give them a goot shake before installing then, I have a dx4800 and Ive been using the cheap inks for over 2yr. I havent had a prob so far

I need an inkjet multifunction for a family member, and Canon look decent. Does anyone know if the PIXMA MP190, MP240 and MP260 are any good? Best to stay away from the cheaper MP190 if the inks may cost more?
Also any idea how much an Epson Stylus Photo R300 is worth? I'm planning to sell mine, along with a Perfection 3170 scanner. And bin an old Epson Stylus Color 740.

It's the one called Continuous Ink Systems, CISS for Epson, HP, Cannon, Ink Refills ...
Used different ones for years, One in now cost £30 & is new, last ones lasted nearly a year each !
Second pic has unopend box ready for when i run out.
Edit also i use Epson sscserve.exe to reset the counter, & it has a power clean for heads, Its saved me a few times,,

Epson Outside Waste Tank
Remember to fit a outside waste tank to your Epson printer, before installing your CISS system, it takes all the waste ink from going inside the printer
Google to find your printer details, or make one yourself (it's not hard)
