Ok, for my birthday i got far cry 2.. and i really cant get into itt.. is the aim of the game to do boring missions which take ages to get there while on the way you randomly get attacked by militia.. ?

you got further than I did.

I got fed up when I got told "go and get the diamond, but first you should get some malaria pills" so I went to get malaria pills and died of malaria on the way.

and then a little later I did it right (found the diamond THEN got the malaria meds) then I went back to the guy who gave me the diamond and his mates all shot me. I've not played it since.

It's all about the map editor. Forgot the rest of the game and start making a map or two in it. It really is quite amazing what you can achieve, even if you just stack up loads of barrels and make them explode :)

:D
Sounds great!

Some people are enjoying it, it seems like an incredibly marmite game, you either love it or you hate it. I fall into the latter category, dire game.

The first 30 minutes were awesome then you realize that thats the entire game. Do the enemies have some sort of magic that makes incoming bullets dodge them? The aiming was terrible.

I’ve never had a problem with hitting the enemy its their ability to shoot through bushes that irritates me.

after playing for a few hours iv also tired of it and plonked it back on the shelf. cant see it getting played any time soon with so many good games out or right around the corner.

Not impressed myself either.

Not impressed with crysis WarGear either... On that I got to a mind of little water fall thing that I had to climb but I cant even do the suit jump thingy???

So, on both games I have done about half an hour only to give up!

Im sick of these so called big games cos in the end its all hype and tripe.

Guess it's a Marmite kind of game really, but I love it, I really enjoy the whole open world aspect to the missions, even if the missions themselves are repetitive – it doesn’t phase me to walk from one side of the map to the other, it’s quite enjoyable (exploring, diamond hunting, sneaking or attacking militia etc).

Scort.

Aiming is fine, or at least it is on PS3 version, it's just the weapons don't drop people fast enough - I would bet a large sum of money that a 3-5 round burst to the chest with a rifle, would likely drop your average unarmored person :p But in FC2, it often takes twice as many shots, and they must be registering as you see blood – I guess you get sweet corn rounds on hard or something :D

Scort

I like how it takes a full magazine to put an enemy down even though he is not wearing any armor, not even a shirt. and the weapons you pick up take the biscuit. Old? they look like they was dug up from world war 1.

Its **** pc gamers can keep it bring on GoW 2

Far Cry 2 wasn't made by the people who did the original Far Cry, so I don't see what it has to do with the PC, they only used the same name to try get some extra sales from thickies who thought it was a sequel to the first.

One of the most boring intros ever, that Jackal guy also reminded me of Mr. Bookman from Seinfeld.
