Who is going to use these NXE features?

What's this 1658x1050 thing then?

Does it not currently play games at this res or something?

Extra resolution for VGA users. I think at the moment your Monitor scales (some do) or you get borders etc.

I notice your posts on the 360 are always very negative, but ignoring that...

Stop trolling mate.

Possibly you pay too much attention? Weird no-one else has issues. I thought it was a valid point tbh. You know, it is optional on one console but mandatory on the other (Whereas HDD installs are the other way around).

Anyway best you don't trouble yourself with this and keep it on topic, lad. It can only deter from what was a normal thread tbh.

HD install yes

Avatar no.

I prefer the stylish look of the new 360 NXE because I feel it looks less kiddish than the current one. Unfortunately the avatars add tackiness back to what could be a nice sleek interface.

Incidentally I saw a video on a site (that has NXE already, obviously). For people without Avatars you see like a silhouette in it's place, which kind of looked quite cool tbh.

game installs will be used for most my games on my elite, I'll also be using party chat a lot (no dpad pressing on halo 3! :D)

I'm loving the install feature :D takes 8-10 mins per game but my 360 is now virtually silent and loading times are much shorter in all games! I was lucky enough to get early access to the NXE on one of my 360s by applying through majornelson.com a week or so ago. The other console is still on the traditional dashboard and the difference is night and day.
Also love the fact that everything feels more integrated now, i.e. insert a game and get game-specific panes on the dashboard like achievements and available downloads for that game, much easier than going through submenu upon submenu to find the same info.

I will most definitely use the save to HDD feature for games i play the most, as i only have 13gb to play with i guess i can only install 2 max.

I will use the avatar feature to create a gamertag picture, hate using the generic ones and i will not pay for packs.

i have a first gen xbox and it doeshn't seem that loud when playing a game as that juist drowns it out and the new dash board looks horrible and inefficent to me. i gues i must be missing something?

You're in the Minority :p

360 wise, The drives vary, So you may have a quiet one, But generally speaking they are horrendously loud. As for the updated look, I feel it looks miles better, And more efficient, as said in the post above. It displays things specific to the game you have inserted, how can that be anything but efficient :p

Anyways, As with much. It's going to be down to tastes. :)

Very cute. :)

You should address these NXE features in your OP too, all of which are important in their own right:

New GUI
Live Guide (affects mesaging and party play)
8 person chat (affects social gameplay a lot!)
Access to Marketplace on the PC
Ability to remove 0 GS games from your GS list
16:10 resolutions

The HDD game install is the only feature i'm looking forward to. The new resolution support is cool aswell.

I can actually put my elite to some good use! :p

Maybe you should address them in your own thread, they seem like features you care a lot about. Either way a new thread is best rather than trashing/sidetracking this one. If I wanted them in the Original Post I would have mentioned them. Instead I chose to mention there are other features, without specifying.

Ta :D

i'll use the hdd install but only on games like cod 4 which i used to play a lot. Not sure about the avatar, might just make a silly one :p

Then perhaps you should have used a better fitting title rather than one that appears to address all NXE features. I'll leave it there, but it's worth noting for future threads ;)

Hi, I don't know what your problem is to be honest, there are many threads in this forum that have non correct or fitting titles. Possibly if you have an issue in the future you can use the RTM feature (it's worth noting for future threads ;) )

Could you or a Don change replace "the" for "these" in the thread title accordingly and then leave it there?

I'll be using both definitely :)

I've tried loading discs from the HDD, its a lot quicker for older games and the box is silent too. I like the idea of avatars too :)
