It's easier to follow though, especially on a track both drivers don't know very well (assuming you've only been to Nurburgring once or twice, apologies if this isn't the case).

There really isn't a lot between the DC2/DC5/EK9 and Clio 182, they're all great cars but there's no chance I'd ever swap mine for a Renault Clio.

This man is correct, there all great cars all offering a slightly different driving experience. I think your lucky if you get to own any of them ....

I guess its just a case of which you like the look of best then. For me it would be the Tegs as i think they look great.

Now i just need to get another year or 2 no claims and a bit more driving experience while saving my pennys.

Since my last post in this thread, my Lust for a DC5 has increased greatly.

I turn 21 in March, on the 21st :P and I'm seriously considering getting one, I've got the money for one (most appear around to 10-12k mark) and I think the farm insurance might just cover me.

that's what my old housemate did, put his DC2 on his dad's farm insurance, was about £800-950 iirc
 
Sigh, Honda's are on par with other cars before vtec and then beat them after vtec, simple as that.

Next the old torque jokes will come out, please change the record.
 
No doubt the clio 182 is good fun, and really want to drive one, but I am narrow minded and for me jap > french fries :D

I will be keeping an eye on DC5 prices, but the dc2 is a damn good amount cheaper and pretty bullet proof itself. Bargain tbh :)
 
oh dear.. all I want is abit of advice :p and everyone is arguing over whether the Clio is better than the Integra?

Clio is a different car altogther, its smaller.. and I don't realy like the shape of them.

Wrong.

Honda make fantastic engines that love to rev, but all of their power comes high up, which is great for us real petrol heads who love to rag it everywhere, but to me they are no fun to drive 'normally'.

I can see why Honda's fetch the money that they do, they are truly focussed motors, and are reliable to boot,the clio is also a fantastic car but reliability is iffy.

Tegs and the EK3 would be as cheap as the Clio if they were bought into the uk in similar quantities, plus you have the scene tax that goes with special imports.

But if I had 12k to blow, It'd be on a DC5 and not an elise (too hardcore) or 330ci (too soft).It all depends on what floats your boat when it comes to driving. You either 'get' hatches like the clio/teg or you dont, and teg is the best of the bunch, not by much, and probably not by enough if you take the cost price into account.

Unfortunately it seems to me that most proper " Honda " Boys seem to think that Honda's are the best car money can buy and that nothing else comes close. Honda make fantastic cars just perhaps not as good as some people like to make out. I have a few friends with civis and tegs and the way they go on about them , anyone would think there were driving around in lambos

So yea. Integras are good cars but are hyped beyond belief meaning they cost ridiculously stupid amounts of money.

£12k for a Y reg Honda = pathetic
£7k for an S reg Honda = pathetic
 
I’ve driven my friends 172 on a number of occasions and while I wont deny it’s a fun car to drive I just don’t think it comes close to the feel that the DC2 has, the seating position makes me feel like im sitting in my mums car and it doest have the raw edge the DC2 has. I think the teg has a lot more presence than the clios which tend to blend in with the hundreds of other shopping carts you see every day. The teg looks different and while the looks aren’t to everyone’s taste I’ve had nothing but positive comments about it, folk coming up to me on garage forecourts while im filling up saying my car looks ‘well nice’ It’s never happened with my mates clio.

I do love the looks of the DC5 and the interior is improved over the DC2 but I don’t think I could warrant the extra 5k for what essentially is an almost identical and in some ways inferior car. I did toy with the idea of selling the DC2 and getting the DC5 but I couldn’t justify the extra cost, having said that if I had 10k to spend right at this moment I would probably have bought the DC5, as it is and with the price I paid I couldn’t be happier with my DC2.

Honestly, im not saying the Teg is a bad car, just pointing out you can have a car which handles and performs the same for a lot less money.

not 10000bhp just 65bhp actually ;) I'm just saying it's obviously it's modified it may have a whole host of mods and so might the DC2..

I suppose.. My main qualms with the Clios is that they just don't sizzle my sausage.. Well except the V6 although they should have made it much better than just pointlessly changing the engine position and weighing it down by sticking more body panels over the existing ones!

And both points you were trying to make about the DC2 being modified and the drivers of different abilities are agreeing with me.

Clios!! LoL. Gayest looking cars ever....so glad we don't get that rubbish in the US.
