If you smoke stop now

I personally have never smoked a cigarette in my life, and never plan to, I agree that its a horrible habit, but some people find comfort in smoking. They find it can relieve stress after a long day, and lets face it, some people don't want to, but they get addicted, I'm sure most people are addicted to something. Each to their own, if someone wants to smoke, I'm not gonna stop them, each have their own reasons.

OP, christ man! Lucky escape there really mate, but again, hope you make a full and speedily recovery. Wake up call do you think?

I'm pretty shocked at what you have just said Tefal. Imagine you just had a health scare and people just berate and belittle you. Really lost for words....

Get well soon McManic, i'm sure all the Console forumers wish you a speedy recovery!

My Granddad never smoked, hardly drank a drop of alcohol (bar a whiskey at Christmas), watched what he ate, generally looked after himself and yet he died from a heart attack! Due to this fact, I suggest we ban life!

Just lost my Grandad to fags, same as yourself a heart attack. He smoked between 40-80 a day for the past 50+ years. Horrible way to go.

I smoke myself, altough a lot less at 5 - 7 a day. I am trying to quit espicall since I just lost my Granda to them. Glad you have saw the light and stopped though.

The worst drug there is, imo.

I had a big heart attack two years ago, also down to smoking. Also excessive overeating contributed to it. Not nice to go through so I know what you're dealing with.

However I'm still on the fags to this day, albeit not as much as I used to be. I can't see the point giving in at my age.

Get well soon mate.

Driving kills more than smoking and the pedestrians are the victims here. I don't drive, do you? Do i lecture you to stop? Maybe now you can see where Tefals anguish is coming from. (not aimed at anyone in particular)

Natural selection has to come into it somewhere, its a choice after all.

Unfortunatly realisation often only comes through experience.

There will undoubtably have been an event in your life that has changed you from an apathetic standpoint to one where you take a side and you feel passionate about. It's human nature to try and right the wrongs and warn others of the dangers.....even if it is blatently obvious.

However annoying you find it the bottom line is that the OP has posted with good intentions.

Get well soon, I understand that you have probably smoked for a few years, at least you got a good reason now to give up, as giving up can be extremely hard. Keep it up! :)
