its more because like danh84 said.. theres a big difference between a bad game and a game you don't like.

your list whilst of course based on opinion, is pretty questionable anyway considering you think mirrors edge is one of the best in 2008 when it hasnt even been released? i too have high hopes for that game but to judge it based on a demo? it makes me think how long you've tried any of the 'worst' games you listed

Why the hell is GTA IV one of the worst games of this year?
And Far Cry 2 is really that bad?

Is it playability, bugs etc? Or just the fact that they're not as good as expected. That alone wont make them the worst games out of all released this year...
 
I find your taste in games.... disturbing. In fact, our lists seem to be polar opposites! With the exception of Fallout 3, which I haven't tried yet.

edit: and yeah, 'worst of' is a bit too much, like some others here have said, just because you don't like a game doesn't mean it's the worst thing ever. With that in mind, I would only really nominate something like Quantum of Solace for being excessively poor and below standards. Nearly alll the games mentioned so far, has been big budget, big hitting games that mark well over 80% on metacritic. Surely you must change your definition of 'worst of', or be a bit more conservative with your views of what makes a game truly terrible.

Battlefield: Bad Company = SP only MP is ****
Grand Theft Auto = Story was terrible but gameplay was refreshing

It's the worst game i've played this year simply because it's the ONLY one i haven't enjoyed at all. I pick my games very carefully and because of this i have had a generally fantastic experience with all of my games apart from this. I just couldn't get along with it hence worst as, for me, it is.

Then all lists would be the same. This is all just personal opinions. a lot of people have MGS4 as their worst game when I have it as GOTY, everyone has different tastes in games.

Just realised, i have not bought a single 360 game all year- SHOCKING, every console game I've bought has been PS3.
