This is total and utter FAIL. Not only have I just got SkyHD downstairs at a higher cost that getting VMHD, now the missus can kick me put of the livingroom and make me watch my stuff upstairs on VM

I would love more HD on Virgin, but i can't see us VM customers getting any of Skys HD channels
Dunno, I'm hoping it will mean more HD for Virgin but I'd be suprised!
I thought he was being ridiculous and talking about season 20 of fringe too.. but then I realised that the episode of the simpsons I watched earlier was s20e04.
I timed the adverts once and in an hour long program it was over 20 minutes of adverts. Sky one used to be good , now the only way to watch it is by recording the program so you can skip the adverts.
I don't mind having it back now but it really has gone downhill.

Seconded on this! Ive stopped watching sky1 because of it. This really annoyed me when watching battlestar galactica.

Yup. It's cheaper funnily enough that having Sky multiroom, BT phone and broadband, and added to that our phone line can deal with a max connection of 512mb....
We pay: £50 for skyHD inc sky sports and £38 for VM 2mb BB, XL TV (inc Setanta
) and telephone with loads of free time for the wife to talk. We used to only have standard skya nd the wife liked the catch up for her soaps and I like the movies on demand in bed.
Agreed about Sky One. I've been spending money for year after sodding year on the full Sky package, and I've realised how little I watch it. I watch Freeview (BBC, Sky Three, Virgin 1) far more.
I'm currently paying £44 to Sky, £12 to BT, and £25 to PlusNet. I don't trust Sky broadband. Net result - I think I've just about convinced myself the Sky subscription has to go. Whether I switch to VM is another matter. Maybe. I rely heavily on my upload bandwidth so switching to Sky broadband isn't an option, and I'm not sure VM is either.

But the real question is Channel 4 now FTA on Astra2 ? Or do sky still encrypt it?
