Brother robbed at knife point

I got robbed at gunpoint a couple of weeks back, in Nottingham ('the park' area at around 9pm). Two guys wearing motorcycle helmets. They got away with £50 cash and my phone. I felt like a bit of a loser for just handing the stuff over without a fight, but the gun was stuck in my neck before I knew what was going on.

Of course the police were no help. I spent 3 hrs at Beeston police station giving a statement, but haven't heard back from them since.

Anyway, the bottom line is "these things happen". Your brother should just be glad that he didn't get hurt.

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution is looking pretty attractive lately.

Where we have knife crime we'd just have gun crime. Seeing how idiots actually use their knives, i doubt the heat a shooting would bring would be much of a deterrent.

Most muggings are youth on youth, so unless you want youths carrying guns...

One of my friends got robbed a few years ago by a chav with two knives. After taking his money phone he tried to stab him and somehow luckily failed :\

You're an idiot. If you pull out your own knife you're just provoking them and it ends... badly.

qouted for truth..........

thats why you need a gun, not a knife. Knifes are for chavs, guns are for chav killings.

I know other countries have it bad aswell but, having been to quite a few countries, England is now the only place I expect I can get mugged simply anywhere at anytime. Not to sound to bad but say in america, people wouldn't venture into the ghetto area's, stay in the suburbs and you'd be fairly safe, thats still the case. Here it used to be similar, but not chavs/muggers/scum seem to have completely free reign to go wherever they want and please and theres really no where in particular you are safe.

In America to a degree the better area's are policed better, so theres less incentive to go rob the richer people because you've got more cops to deal with and a system that will screw you for a big jail term in a country not scared to build new jails.

here that disincentive to not go and mug any old person has gone, they no longer fear getting long jail terms, the government pulls police off the street rather than adding them, they have less cops on patrol and people just aren't scared of being caught doing anything.

While its unfair to force good people who happen to be poor to deal with the scum of the earth, life is simply nicer when we try and keep the bad people in their own area's and keep them worried enough about getting into trouble that they don't make everyones lives a misery.

The fact is England is going downhill with not a single decent plan in place to really fight crime, spending millions, hundreds of millions maybe on employing thousands of barely trained half cops to go out instead of real police was just a joke, a political farce hoping no one would see past the numbers and see how useless they are. I used to feel safe pretty much anywhere except walking through a council estate at night tbh, now hell, you're safer walking through the council estate, everyones off mugging people elsewhere thesedays.

NO, you call that a knife.

THIS IS A KNIFE ;) :)

Sorry for your bro, it's soo easy these days for young ****s to do this, and they are probably willing to stab the person. Plus if they did, would probably get a slap on the wrist, or for murder, a few years in juvi.

I hate this country, this is one thing I wouldn't mind being in america for. You have jsut a knife to a shotgun fight sunny jim !

DAMN DAMN DAMN, lived just round the corner in harlaxton drivejust over a year agao as a student, always used to cutthrough the park to go to town, BZR, and ocean.

It's a lovely area, but also very very quiet, now I know why the massive houses there have 10ft high walls and CCTV.

Clearly you missed the post about laddo getting mugged in Nottingham by chavs who had a GUN.

PS Arms race for the lose.

thats why you have a nice chunk of C4 attached to a detonate controlled by your heart rate, if they shoot you, you explode, they die.

Then if muggers start doing the same, stay in your house with a big ass automatic turret set to kill anything that gets within 50yards. Eventually we'll just have to nuke the UK and start over.

Yeah great :D
Perhaps then we could challenge America at being one of the top countrys in the world with regards to violent crime and murder rates

Or perhaps we could carry on doing what were doing and have one of the lowest ;)

Yep, and *dark*. Those streetlamps might be very decorative, but they don't really give off much light...
