I have an Iiyama 2403WS screen (24" TN panel, matt finish) and, thanks to my cat, it has some damage from water.
I left a half-empty glass of water on my desk one morning a couple of weeks back, and when I came back my cat had knocked it over (she likes doing this with glasses), and had been splashing around in it. There were some stains on the screen where the water drops had splashed on it and dried, and they don't seem to want to come off...
When the screen is dark they become completely invisible, but they are highly noticable when white light is passed through. I'm guessing it was the minerals in the water which caused the damage when it dried? Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of damage, and has any suggestions? Is it just 'new screen' time?
If I do get a new screen, would a glossy finish be more resistant to this type of damage than a matt one?
Cheers...
