The Zombie Invasion Strategy Thread

people seem to be forgetting that petrol pumps will probally be switched off, thus extra clearing o petrol station and time filling could be hazardous.

You forgot about the dodge shopping center between them(forget the name) only 2 or 3 ways in possible to hold up in there i would suspet. food a plenty and i imagine a few knifes and so on. Or you could come to arbroath and we could all hold up in the signal tower or the abbey lol

The Forum, I wasn't including as most people don't even realise it is there, there's only about three entrances plus cargo bays etc so it might make a good hideout but genuinely if it was a toss up between spending a few weeks in there and taking my chances with the undead I think I'd opt for the latter.

has the mill' dome been mentioned ? or a blockade in a biosphere , eden project? self sufficient localised eco system. should be fine in there.

Half the folk that go in there are already undead right enough. we could always rob gows the gun shop and go on a killing spree.

Personally I would be off down the nearest barracks, they have weapons and people who know how to use them, in the event that they are overrun, it is going to be the only place to feasibly acquire weapons in the UK still, so we would need a reconnaissance of the base prior to full scale equipment thievage.

Then depending on the general security in the barracks I would probably stay there, usually only one way in and one way out, heavily fortified, has proper vehicles, radios, supplies of petrol / diesel, should have a store of rations that should last a long time if necessary. The only real drawback is the size of most barracks, hard to defend, so you would need a decent sized group of people, but tis unlikely that the barracks are going to be the first place to be overrun.

Don't forget that a lot of the water supply is pumped. I'd expect the power to die fairly quickly so water supplies will go too. You;d need bottled water for the short term and then look for somewhere isolated and relatively secure that has water (near a river, etc). Food is important but you can last quite a while without it. No water would be a bigger immediate threat.

But I'd find some kind of weapon first.

No way.

I work at Lakeside, there are four main entrances just to the mall, each of the flagship stores has an entrance of it's own, that brings it up to about ten, every store on one side of the lower floor has a door that opens directly on to the loading bay, that's probably another thirty or so, there are at least fifteen or so fire exits (I'm probably underestimating this badly as well), probably five or ten smaller entrances into various stores from various car parks... I mean Debenhams has three entrances just into the one store, House of Fraser at the other end is the same but I think it actually has more

Seriously there's probably between 50 and 60 doors into Lakeside.

In fact on talking to a friend and thinking more about it, it's got to be approaching a hundred at least.

Yeah, If I said Miltonkeynes shopping centre, there well in excess of 100 doors to entry. lol

Supermarket it better me thinks :p

instead of a shopping centre

why not just go to a super market.... less doors, more food etc...

Not a bad plan that. Hole up in one of the old style supermarkets (i.e. one where the entire front isn't made of glass) and all you need to do is barricade the doors very well. You'd have all the water and food you'd need to ride it out.

Wife away this weekend LOL

Gathers entire Zombie DVD collection and arranges for the lads to come round for a zombie fest.................:D

Reckon Day Of The Dead original and remake first, gets notepad & pen to make notes on Supermarket wrong-doings :p

Also weekly Asda shop tomorrow.....................plans on doing a reccy for doors and entrance to roof ;)

So....where do we all agree to meet up when the zombies start coming?

Purple shirt brigade car park, then off to some fairly naf pub (which may or may not be called the Winchester), then retreat to the top of a hill somewhere.

It's your standard OcUK Motors Meet, a well rehearsed routine.

I think it's a mistake choosing a big building like a supermarket. it's too big and you'd thus need a lot of people to be able to monitor all directions at once - you want to know early when they're coming so you can get ready and the bigger the building the more difficult it is to monitor such things.

The one near me has big metal shutters on all the doors and windows for when it closes on a sunday. These would stop any zombie from entering the building.

All the tinned food to last you till the zombies die of starvation.

Plus access to the roof for some headshot practice.

The only problem would be removing the zombies that are inside the building when you arrive. An automatic shotgun would prove useful here.

I think most would have left the building....as soon as people realise there is one inside the shop, they'll run....and if people get infected, they'll just chase the others that are running away.

But yes, there will be some left, naturally...And a manager cowering in and office corner somewhere.

To be honest, if the Zombie Apocalypse happened tomorrow I'd make my way to an elevated living area, stock it up and barricade as well as possible.

Once there, I'd spend as long as I could playing Xbox and talking online with the multitude of other survivors who would obviously be there too (TO THE INTERNETS!!!).

Once power etc. gave out I'd put a bullet in myself. No point fighting to survive when your life itself ain't worthing living.
