Yeah, there's no point...

I had TBC about 3 days before the 'official launch', guess the retailer made a bit of a bodge-job with the pre-orders and early shipping-- either that or they vastly underestimated the good old British postal service :P.

Couldn't get into Outland or play any TBC content until it the flip was switched server-side, so although I was one of the first people to seamlessly walk through the portal after the grand opening ceremony/event, it didn't really give any other advantage.

Considering whether to quickly level my warrior from 65-70 and play in WoTLk, or to play my Gay Elf (ahem, blood elf) 70 mage, or to carry on the campaign of ownage on my rank14 gn0me rougé! Choices!

I've been playing since the start on Dragonmaw in a guild called iHORDE then moved with the guild to Frostmane a long long time ago.

What are your characters name?
 
anyone got any idea what or when the world event for wrath will be/start. Those flying necropokis cant be there for nothing and the plague a week back.

It's already started - each necropolis is anchored to two shards with a load of level 70 mobs around it. Argent Dawn in EPL give out the quests.
 
Northend is there, but there is no way to get there.

The Zeplins arn't running yet, same and the boats from SW.

Everything else is live on the servers. At 12.01 they will switch this part on.



Mages dps.... Its finally caught up wiht locks.
Hunters nothing realy has changed on them.

U wanna try Arms warriors... Ours in always top on our DPS charts in BT+SWP.
 
Yeah Arms warriors were slightly to powerful because of imp deep wounds. A player recorded some stats and his ticks were going at 6k each (obv well geared) as Arms spec. It beggers belief! It got nerfed in the last patch but nothing massive.

Regarding pre-orders sent early. Some have said you won't be able to get to northrend because of Zeps or any other methods being impossible right now (Unlike the dark portal). Apparently Blizzard have been strict with stores sending out copies who pre-ordered online and have said not to send it early as they would normally do with a typical game. So you actually have more chance of it arriving a day late rather than on the day.

It doesn't mean every store in the world will do this, but at the same time I'm not joking so I decided to go into a high street store and pay £2 more to just pick it up on day of release as I really don't want to play a day after most people.

Just a heads up on that nothing more.

Regarding prot tanks I agree with the few that commented that it is far easier and better etc etc etc, I was merely saying that before todays method of playing Prot tanks were not all the rage/demand that they were for tanking. I even use to tank Stratholme with TuF waaaaay back, but I was mostly epic.

Some mages I know are getting 10k crits (T6 geared).
 
Our glave fury warrior managed to get a 11,000 deep wounds tick .. its a bit insane.


As for 10k crits on mages, the max i managed was 8.2k which is only 300 damage higher then pre-patch.
The extra crit damage on burnout helps, but we lost other damage modifiers like imp scorch, so the overall gain is lower.
What really helps our DPS is instant pyro's and shorter fights in general thanks to everyone having higher DPS, fire/IV is about as good as it gets for boss DPS at 70.

I would imagine Northrend will be running on separate servers and will be switched on at a certain time, Burning Crusade had an "opening event" so I would expect WOTLK to be the same.

Doesnt really matter when it turns up then really?? unless your set in playing death knight, as all the content is already there?

Or if you dont buy the expansion, does that mean you cant goto northrend?

I didnt try it with tbc, as i got it early lol. I thought the actual expansion pack only unlocked the extra playable race? not the continent, im probably wrong though lol :D

The servers are already up and running, however we just can't access them. We know this because we can link the tier 7 sets which are sold by vendors, and this would be impossible without the NPC's being alive.

They did the same thing with TBC too, was able to link various items a few months before it was released.

You are. To access Northrend you'll need to buy WOTLK.

The same goes for TBC - to access The Outland you have to purchase TBC. And you couldn't access The Outland until a certain time anyway.
 
Really disappointed by the complete lack of Collectors edition available for the UK.

And the big river has really messed this all up as well. fools.

its a bit late now isnt it? They made some more for the midnight signing so if your lucky you can pick one up there ;)

Anyway, any help for a blood elf mage (talent spec etc) since the patch? I'm a complete nub, about lvl 45 ish on bloodfeather. Ive got frost specs atm, wonderinf if i should change?

Any tips generally? :P

When i used to play WoW, i personally found elementalist spec the most fun to play.

Bloodfeather was my first server ! have T6 mage there now :) but i'm alliance sorry :(

The Big River, had this thing where if you wanted it they would email you as soon as it came onto the site, and i've had this pre ordered (though the email) since it was released, and alas no email from the big river and i've left it too late to try and get one. really annoyed me.

Stay frost to level mate, I've levelled two mages and found frost much easier to level with, you have more surivabilty and you can control fights better.
Also when you hit the max level pvp for a bit, get used to playing a mage :)
