The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Really want to get into this game but find it pretty overwhelming. Any good guides you could give a newbie?

Also finding a good Corp that shares similar interests to yourself is very worthwhile. Starting off you're probably unsure of what direction you'd like to go in but don't be afraid to check out a few out until you're happy, makes the game very enjoyable.

hey colinuk I sent you an in-game mail but is it "ColinUC" it keeps defaulting to that.

Yeah finding a good corp helps a lot, just ask in the recruiment channel. jonnybase what style of play you into?

Thanks for the responses guys.

I would say unsure - for obvious reasons. I like the idea of trading on the market, but obviously i first need some cash/assets to trade!

Something has made me want to start playing eve again... But I sold my char so I'd have to start all over again :(

What's the in thing now? Blasters? Lasers?

It doesn't really provide much info but cool none the less, maybe proves that "hundreds maybe thousands" ships will be in space at once. 64 bit technology for the win.

I think there have been some 1000 player battles recently that haven't lagged all that much, but as they increase the capabilities and capacities of the server there will be the numbers to saturate the performance, until you can have millions on grid you'll always exceed server performance faster than they can increase it :D

Saying that, imagine 5000 versus 5000 with no lag :D
