HTC Touch HD... 800x400, 5MP, GPS, 3G, 3.5mm jack...

I am still in 2 minds about which network to go for though, as O2 have a 200mb data limit and Orange have a 250mb limit.

Since when did O2 go backto their 200MB policy?!?!? They've had an unlimited bolt-on option with no FUP for a while now... I use it myself.

Good way to get your posts ignored in future. ;)

thanks for your help. i could have sworn this was a forum, and indeed furthermore the mobile section where one asks questions on all matters relating to 'mobiles'?

since when were members of this forum not allowed to ask questions that are answered easilly?? jesus there wouldnt be anything on here if that were the written rule. christ, i thought i left the teachers at shcool behind years ago.:p

Yes, he was asking a question that had already been answered and that he could have quickly checked for himself. The problem with forums is that some people start thinking everyone is at the beck and call like a personal Google service. :p

hmmm, see-

and also-

This post he made only confirms what I say, and as a long-term forum user who makes an effort to contribute it's things like this that irritate. Sorry. :p

Ok i'll shut up now. :D

i was joking mate. and oh yeah i've been a member for longer than you if that matters to you. can we please just move on now. i can ask what i want even if it is a stupid question. maybe you took my cheeky reply in the wrong way. i was joking. end of.

now back on topic (again, ahem), how does the battery on the hd compare to the xperia and the n96? i'm aware of some issues with the nokia (as always) but i'm used to charging my phone most days anyway, the screen on the hd looks amazing but i'm guessing it will use some serious juice??

.... aaaaannnywayy....

been trying to get through to mobiles.co.uk today but whenever I get to press an option (like 1 for sales) the phone gets put down on me (beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep)....

Doesn't sound too great considering the phone lines are stated to be open at present time of writing.

Another thing is I'm not sure whether this is going to be the phone for me atm after reading a review stating it would be a bad phone to use for business.

Being a PC engineer by trade it's going to get taken around with me everywhere and although I would look after it as I take pride in all my gadgets etc. I'm not sure having such a large display would be the most practical step for me.

The Xperia X1 has entered the race as a very viable option, it's available on the o2 200 contract for just 20 quid more than the HD and having used the MDA T mobile qwerty phone (long time ago can't remember exact model) I wouldn't be alien to the keyboard flip out and quite liked it on that tmob phone. However I've never had a Touch screen phone and I think I'd probably get on with one of them as well.....

mine arrived today. was skeptical about size and speed as the mrs has the omnia and wasnt overly impressed with it. its really a big step up, perfect size i would say and im used to a w880i. screen and speed is very impressive, not regretting it at all.

....

It does this for me too when I call on the mobile, but it was ok on the landline. That said, they didn't answer the phone...

I spoke to a lady at mobiles.co.uk a few days ago and she confirmed I will be receiving my O2 contract Touch HD on Tuesday :D

She said there should be no problem changing the bolt-on from unlimited txts to unlimited browsing. But I'd have to speak to O2.

Man... I can't wait to show this off to my mate who's obsessed with PDAs :p, he's gonna be so jealous

Heofz let us know how you get on with changing the bolt on, there's been different answers depending on who you ask. one cpw guy told me you can change after the 1st bill, another cpw guy told me you can't change it if its a new contract and have to stick with it for the 18months(can change after 3 months if its upgrade). have a look at the buying from mobiles.co.uk thread on the xda-developers forums(in the blackstone section).

as I've mentioned before I'm thinking about getting this, hope mobiles.co.uk don't change the deal and put the prices up once they get the stock in(I haven't ordered yet).

well guys I tried getting through to mobiles.co.uk and was on hold for the best part of an hour (freephone number tho) to no avail...

so rang o2, spoke to a really nice girl who told me that my number will stay the same etc. and that my o2 broadband will stay at 7.50 a month.... so there is no problem getting the HD through mobiles.co.uk ... However, she then said I could get a contract phone directly through o2 and receive FREE broadband!

They just love to get your head spinning eh :)

I'm still dithering whether this will be a responsible business phone for me but I just love the size of the thing and what I've seen from it on youtube. I may be ordering mine tonight! Few more hours dithering :D

smr if you get it from mobiles.co.uk your number will NOT stay the same as its a new contract and you can't transfer numbers(port numbers) on the same network(unless you have a O2 PAYG I think).

I'm leaning towards waiting till the new year now before deciding what to do :)

Heofz let us know how you get on with changing the bolt on ... *snip*

Right, I just spoke to customer services at O2, and I got the name of the guy and his extension, and he advised me that as long as I ring O2 the same day I start using the phone, I should be able to change to bolt on and it'll be done for me within 24 hours no problem :D

Thanks for the heads up mate but you're wrong there. This was my most important question when getting through to o2 and talking to them.

I asked whether I would be able to keep my number because it's my business mobile and she said that that would be fine. All I would need to do is request my FUP (?) can't remember the acronym.

Once I've got it from o2.co.uk give it to mobiles and walla ! Same number.
