Installed this on my games machine which shares keyboard/mouse with my everyday pc via a USB KVM. Sometime during the installation the games pc locks up with a black screen and now the KVM refuses to work. I'll swap the mouse/keyboard to the games machine later and see what happens.
 
Also the Installer failed to put an entry in the Start Menu/Programs or icon on the desktop.
This bugs me :mad: The last three games I've bought haven't created either, just an entry in the Games Explorer in Vista. Means I can't just type the first few characters in the Search box on the Start Menu to launch the game...

Otherwise, COD5 is excellent - good addition to the series!
 
Lodsa of rumours floating about on the http://www.callofduty.com forums - still no official word from Activision - some ppl think that they are trying to ban the cracked servers which are ironically still working - just hope they sort it out this side of the weekend - some say monday or tuesday - Nightmare really I was having a fine old time:confused:
 
had a look at that website and it says

demo /record (any name you want) This will record a demo

but i put in /record demo1

and it says

unknown cmd record :@ ARGH


yeah can't get online, :-) just burning people on the single player :D
 
I've now given up on getting this game started. Spent all last night and most of day today trying to find a fix. I get the following when I launch exe:

I have probably tried every suggested fix on the net and it still won't work! My mood gets worse :mad:
 
I get a flikering blob of colour instead of what I think should be smoke or some sort of post effect. Its hard to catch it in the screen shot but it pretty irritating when you trying to shoot. I havent seen this FC2 or Fallout 3. It was very noticalbe when on the second mission storming the beach where I just had these flickering blobs which I guess was supposed to be smoke clouds.

Anyone else been getting this flickering blobs of colour?

I got a EVGA GTX260.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
nope just played when I heard go go go servers back online and saw a lot off smoke only the normal white color got a gtx280

As I move around it flickers and as times blocks the whole view in the distance. I hope there sort this our either with nvidia drivers or a patch for the game. Its pretty much ruining my experience of the game.
 
Whilst I'm enjoying the game, there's something seriously wrong with the "weapon hit" code.

Several times now I've been firing point blank at an enemy coming straight at me and yet no shots have registered. This isn't the usual "learn to aim noob" crap, I'm talking about shots which were dead on target and should no way have missed yet they didn't register.

Have mentioned this in-game and quite a few other people have confirmed my findings and said they've experienced the same thing. I know you need to be more accurate with your aiming than in COD4 but there's definitely something wrong here.
