***Official Wrath of the Lich King Thread***(Contains spoilers)***

Wait til raiding, the mage will destroy the palla at DPS.

Retri was designed as a PVP spec... they run around in Plate - takes no dmg..

I was doing UK last night, and was pulling as many mobs as i could, and just AoEing them down. But look at your gear.... I'm running around in 5/8 t6... I will be using most of my gear into Naxx and heroics. All the instances are tuned for leveling, so your be running around in greens and blues... not t5/6..

You really really need to think about that before slagging off the game.

Actually I'm running around in 4 T6 and 4 S3 with cats edge, so yeah i can say this game is stupidly easy in that respect.

My mage is in Full S3.

And tbh mate, if you and other guilds in such a short period of time clear all the raiding content, then either its not been tuned properly or they are dedicating this expansion to casuals.

You cant say "it was the same in TBC" because when tbc launched you had the attunement quests that at least weeded out the people who where not "raid" worthy, so instead of having the annoying attunement quests, they just nerfed the instances so every noob with questhelper can raid.

Well, when my pally is ret spec he dies quicker then any other class i played lol. PVP and PVE, Well my 70 fury war died quite a bit too :p

Plate makes no diffrence, without the talents, item stats (defencive), and a sheild to back them up.

Prot spec on the other hand, i can easy handle any melee class and have plenty of hp to run away from casters :p Just dont have the option of fighting any class like ret does.

Definately looks that way.

I'm a casual WoW player and came back to the game with the new expansion and as I didn't do a lot of the end-game raiding/PvP I've already replaced a few items from the initial quest drops. The quests aren't too difficult for my priest and I think I've died twice. Once due to stupid aggro'ing (messing about on my mount) and the second due to a 72 elite re-spawning on top of me.

I'm going to try Utgarde Keep this weekend though my friend is a warrior/tank in full epic gear so should be easy enough to get a group together for the experience.

It seems that they've made it so that those in the full epic sets won't be replacing them until level 75+?

Aye thats about right, I can do a quest to replace my cat's edge with a 2h axe from a "ring of blood" style quest, but at the moment i'm holding off because i'm clearing all the zones 1 by 1.

Just solo'd a 3 man elite quest in dragonblight.......this is too easy.

TEKI ! I missed ya buddy where you been :p

But on the game, I do like it but I am worried on how easy this is so far. I really hope the newer raids are a bit challanging.

I like that the dungeons are a bit more compact ie not as much trash but the bosses are not even remotely challanging. You can pretty much tank and spank every boss thus far. I'm refering to 5mans here btw. Not 100% sure on raid bosses

What gear are have you guys got?

If your in T6, then the normal 5 mans are going to be a walk in the park. You have to remember that these places are going to be tuned for people in greens and some blues. So if your jumping in there with T6/SWP gear, then your a bit overgeared for it. Heroics can still present a bit of a challenge though. Last night the spider heroics need some better gear. Our tank for that was blue WotLK geared and he took some impressive damage. I dare say T6 would fair a lot better though.

I'm in kara/talior epics.

A few bits have been replaced by northrend blues now.

Priest - Holy. So im on about whitemends and mooncloth not shadow weave

I've done one instance on my Priest (Utgarde Keep). I was healing in Shadow spec, with a Druid tank who presumably had more points in kitty dps talents. I have level 70 Outland blues and a couple of epics. I ended most boss fights more or less out of mana and had to pot once. This seems about right to me - I'm effectively wearing quest and 5 man blues as any other fresh leveller might have. If they made the content challenging for people in full T6, people with lesser equipment would be utterly stuffed.

Now what is slightly worrying is the fact that it appears people are clearing heroic 5 mans with comparative ease. There should be a real jump in difficulty such that people NEED to run normal 5 mans for kit, before struggling their way through the easier heroics. The equipment 'devaluation' as TBC progressed has given people the mindset that they ding 70 and then just hit the heroics (for dps classes at least). Blizzard should really take the opportunity to make heroics properly challenging again (though I stress I haven't experienced them at level 80 yet, I'm going off what I've heard).

As for raids, Naxx is meant to be easy - Kara was overtuned on TBC release and the rewards too poor. Hopefully the later raids will present a decent challenge.

Well the people talking about heroics being pushovers are normally the 'epeen' guys.

Ie, its easy for me, so your crap/its too easy for everyone.

I tried my first set of heroics last night.

Did, CoT: Strat, The spider place (Cant remember the name) and The Nexus.

The spider place was too much without a priest shackling the trash. Our healer was getting 1 shotted most of the time and we didnt have much CC. Also one of the mobs needs to be CC'ed since it likes to drop agro and wonder off.

The Nexus was pretty cool. Bosses where harder and the trash was easyish. Cleared that with only a few wipes. The interesting part was a new boss that whirlwinds for 18k on mail. Ouch.

CoT: Strat would have been ok if our healer and tank had some better gear. I think the first boss required 3 T6 geared DPS'ers to go all out (we can manage about 3-3.5k dps each), is a bit on the toughside. Our healer and tank was in some quest greens and dungeon blues.

I hear Violet Hold is easier. Havent heard anything about the others.

To be honest I have found this expansion extremely easy. Leveling as a Hunter is easy enough but my Fury warrior is easy too.

Almost level 80 in a week with about 4-5 hrs a day play time, although did have last Friday off ;)

Can solo most the Elite mobs in my level range, and all the instances so far have been a piece of pie. Not sure where this expansion will be going those that are 80 and in Nax 10mans are saying its easy. A lot are still in Sunwell kit too.

My Hunter was mainly T4/PVP set.

It's good to hear that there is some challenge there then. I was hoping that T6 gear would be a bit less relevant by level 80 (i.e. I'd rather it was the case that you needed 3 dpsers in level 80 dungeon blues going flat out than 3 dpers in level 70 epics going flat out), but I guess it's hard to balance things out without going totally overboard with mudflation.

Had a lot of fun today - did the last quests in Dragonblight saw the cut scene and did the revenge quest line. Also played the new battleground with some guild mates and enjoyed that a lot too.

I'm regretting playing on a PvP server at the moment, levelling is really screwed up by gank-squads of alliance players in PvP gear waiting to jump my lvl 72 Death Knight at every chance.

Leveling slowly as a Deathknight !
Really enjoying playing the class.
Will zerg my hunter / mage to level 80 next week.

Game has changed a lot since my first grind all those years ago :<
There are a lot of people at level 80 already :< need to go out more in my opinion.

Hey, my friend has sent me an email for a free 10 day trial. If I create an account and use that authentication key, what will happen when my WoW battlechest comes in a few days? CanI tack that and the BC code onto the trial account? Or will I have to start a new account with the WoW and BC codes?

Cheers.

Yep, that'll work :)
