*** The Official Football Manager 2009 Thread ***

Started a game as Parma who last season got relegated into Serie B, but touted as easy favourites to get promotion straight away, my season in Serie B wasnt that easy but ended up finishing 1st mainly down to the crazy amount of loan signings I brought in (7) with Merida probably been the best of the bunch.

Serie A was very different, only given 6.5m to spend and spending the lot mainly on buying my half of Paloschi from AC and also paying loan fees for Gabriel Tamas and Igor Budan. Another loan signing of this season was D'Alessandro. Expected to go down selected season expectation of avoid relegation, but things went a lot better than that and ended up finishing 5th in the league.



Was chuffed with this and it was mainly down to the goals from this kid. If anyone hasnt found him yet I strongly suggest it.

Great work there in the 2nd season.

How much have you been given for the 3rd season? Being in the Uefa would be a great bonus for you too.

Very nice theme / skin too. What is it? Looks smart.

Still havent found out how much money I have been given yet just in the summer still. World Cup 2010 got my scouts all over that :D
 
So, playing as Man Utd, first season, I've already won the league and I'm through to the FA cup final and champs league final... both against Arsenal. But Arsenal are really difficult for me to beat, though I did win home and away against them this season they were both very very narrow wins and I just don't think It's going to turn out that way twice more. Wish me luck :)


Also any recommendations on a good, fast, right back with good crossing and dribbling? I'm considering Rafinha but who else is around?
Edit. Yes I know Daniel Alves and Sergio Ramos are two but I think they will be very hard to sign.

Dear god this game is so addicting!!!!!

spent at least 10 hours playing it yesterday, spent my whole day on it! got leeds promoted and won the johnstone paint trophy :D
 
Unfortunately The lich king has stolen my soul for the last 1.5 weeks. Now ive finally broken semi-free from his grasp i can assume by all the posts FM09 lived up to the hype and is a must buy for a fm08 lover?
 
FM 8.0.2 was better in my opinion, but FM 9.1.0 still holds it own with some nice features but has some REALLY annoying bugs which probably aren't going to get sorted until January.
