new graphics cards/refresh?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how long before new ATI and nVidia graphics cards come out? Or just the refreshes of existing cards with reductions in price and heat?

Just thinking should I upgrade now or wait a month or so.....its for GTA4 really...and left 4 dead....

I doubt we'll see the refreshers till the new year though now tbh.

Nothing will provide decent gains in those games IMO, neither are massively demanding.

I've read in a few places early December, but they are just rumours.
It would make sense for Nvidia to release the GTX 270/290 in December, right before Christmas. If they do I will most likely buy one, depending on the price ofcourse.

If they take the performance crown back before the years end it plays well on the tech sites. You could argue, they would still do well if they release Q1 2009, but regaining the performance crown the same year you lost it does help the brand.
