Anyone talented enough to have earnt enough to buy and run a car like this at such an age can spell words like 'claims' and knows you dont get an extra years no claims in a few months.

Well you may have 1 years 9 months without a claim in Feb = 1 years NCB
In June you would have 2 years 1 month without a claim = 2 years

:p:p:p:p:p

You only get an NCB for each full year of insurance?
Is that not so?

At 1 year and 11 months wouldn't you have 1 NCB. And then a month later wouldn't it be 2 years NCB? or am I missing something? :( :p

But I can't understand why he'd be insuring a car with 1 years NCB in March and 2 in June or whenever it was. If he's taking out a new policy then surely he... oh I dunno. I'm confused myself now :p

Hmmm that's a point. I don't actually know myself now. I was going on him being able to carry over his NCB.

I'm not 100% but do some insurers allow you to do this? Or do you have to start from day 0 again?

I highly doubt the OP - I remember your name clearly and the kind of stuff you've posted here - it doesn't really make sense !

And gurdas I really can't imagine any situation where a student has landed such a good job they can buy a 25K high insurance car !

There is no reason why you can't get a decent enough quote for about £1500 on this sort of car at this age unless you live in a crap area which further increases the chance of this being yet another dreamer therad.

I hope you realise the running costs and depreciation of a 2005 SL350 are going dwarf your insurance. Also, the SL350 is pointless - the SL500 is the one to buy.

If you dont 'buy it' why post at all? Just to be a pain? You dont have to be that 'talented' to be able to buy a £25,000 car at 22. Maybe i have worked long hours and saved up/parents are buying it for me/won some money/have a great job or one or more of the above? If you dont think its possible then i am afraid your wrong as this is a genuine post by me. Dont believe me? I dont care. I dont think i need to explain myself to you. Maybe you have nothing better to do than post comments like the above. But it has been of little use to me so why bother?

And regarding claims... I started driving in June 07 and so by Feb i will only have one years no claims. But bu June i will have two. So rathern than being patronising why not either 1)use your brain 2)ask me to explain if i was unclear?

Regarding the only bit of your post that was geared towards actually helping me in answering my question rather than patronising me, i cant seem to get a quote any where near that? The quotes im doing are based on me living in Cannock. Not the best area in the world but not to bad either. I have tried quotes based on my appartment in Birmingham city centre which is actually where i live now and they are very similar.

Oh and the running costs of a SL500 would be even more and the insurance would be even more. I want a SL350.

 Insurance on a 350 should be minimal with that criteria, i am 23 with 0NCB and get very low quotes on the small engines.

Try bell.co.uk, putting a middle aged woman as a named driver.

I was getting quotes based on me being the only driver. I will try me and my dad as a named driver and see if that helps.

Thanks for the idea. :)

I may be a little slow but;

Did you start your insurance 4 months early to have 1yr ncb in Feb? But then if you did how can you get another years ncb in 4 months? Or 2 separate policies which you would have a lot of trouble combining?

I know lots of people walking into £30-40k jobs at 21. £25k car is achievable if that's what they want to do.

Housey

I would be more than happy to post pics of my car when i get it. I want to buy a SL at the moment but may change my mind by the time i come to buy a car next year. But whatever i buy will be roughly "£25,000 as that is my budget.

Fox

I cant see what is amusing about my previous threads. What i do find quite amusing though is that you have nothing better to do than winge for the sake of winging.

Merlin

If you dont like me or my post go read something else. No body is forcing you to post in this threat.

Andy@moFo

Sorry for the late reply, im sure you were all awainting my response. I have been doing some paperwork so only just got a chance.

xen

Thanks for the idea but there is no way i would go F&T. You never know when you could have an accident and my dad would never let me do that as he would say its a shupid idea. But thanks for the idea none the less.

I was busy which is why i didnt reply earlier but yes i do think Fox has a attitude problem. Seems im not the only one who has noticed.

Gaijin

Hope your happy with my reply to Fox mate.

Nice to see someone using a brain. Your bang on mate. I want to buy the car in Feb as it is my birthday but i have been getting prices for Feb and June as if there was a massive saving i would wait till then.

People post things here all the time. Sometimes they are serious, something they are just fun threads. And also, and i dont know if anyone else does this, but i sometimes post things asking for advice for others (maybe friends or family). You highly doubt the OP? Why? Because you have read a few of my other posts and feel that you know me/my financial situation well enough from them?!!

I started driving in June 07.

So in June 08 i had 1 years NC.

And in June 09 i will have 2 years NC.

But in Feb 09 i will have been driving only 1 year and 19 months hence having only 1 years NC's to my name.

Prove it, be the first n00b on OcUK to come in here, be all "im 4 years old and daddy's going to buy me an Enzo because he just one the lottery", and actually back your rubbish up.
