What CPU were they using? Could be it's more CPU dependent than GPU. I hope so for the sake of us who don't have high end GPUs.

After reading more about this game and seeing some poor PC screenshots I've cancelled my pre-order and am gonna wait and see on this one.

i've heard some pretty bad things about GTA4 from 360 players, not really living up to expectations, and having more fun with Saints Row 2 instead.
plus installing 18gb, is it really worth it?

Everyone seems disappointed by GTA IV, I was. I really don't understand how the hell it got so many amazing reviews.

Saints Row 2 is out on the PC in January IIRC. It looks promising to me, far more madcap than GTA IV. Looks like what GTA IV should've been.

The 360 one is on DVD so I dunno - higher resolution textures perhaps? Even so it does seem massive.

Maybe they took every texture in the game, put them in a batch editor, tripled resolution on all of them and contacted a bunch of video game journalists saying they've tripled visual quality for the PC

Boo ******* hoo. The only people this sort of thing seems to wind up are the ones looking to download it illegally.

You don't seem to realise that the people who want to download it illegally, will be able to, most likely a few days in advance, with none of this DRM malarkey?

It does look pretty shoddy. Not much better than playing it on my PS3 and 16:10 monitor.

I'm beginning to consider cancelling my pre-order now, too.

Yes, I do realise this.

The point I was making is it's the ones who will download will do it REGARDLESS of any DRM/protection on the (any) game. They are always the ones that moan and groan when the protection is put there and then use it as the reasoning behind the downloading.
