Ive done the ring before but that was in my clio 182 trophy and to be honest in comparison the 182 trophy was sooo easy to throw around. Im a bit nervous about the nurburgring and the VX next year ...

Im planning on doing another in jan at bedford, theres tonnes of run off and i found the novice day really really good ...

yup bedford has no blind hills / crests and masssive run offs.

great for the more seasoned track dayer to mess around on as well until they get black flagged.:(

Did my first track day last year with a few on here at Bedford and really enjoyed it. Really safe track with loads of run off which was good as I have a few offs. The back straight is really fast aswell. :)

the pit straight is great too as you hardly have to brake in the VX / Elises. I was speaking with one of the guys with the exige S and the instructer was telling him not to lift off through there and he span it :D

And yes i need to get some decent wheels (want to go for black TDs) but im recovering from insurance and fixing the bloody thing. I found i was getting a little bit of understeer still evan after the geo but that as far as im aware is just my driving style ...

That day would have been mental if we hadn't got lost on the way there AND had rain ! I was amazed how low my noise Reading was considering when I got to my mates stag do I had gone deaf !!!

Me and nick want to book something pre Xmas, interested ?

Out of interest Sam what did you manage on the back straight ? I got just over 140 I think .. Was awesome fun blasting round there... Even if when I did go with an instructor he insisted 3rd gear for nearly every corner ! Took me till the 300 yard markers to get back into vtec !
 
I'd love to do a trackday in my car Im just worried about breaking it :o

What kind of cost would I be looking at to do a track day? Is it as hard on the cars as I imagine? For example my tyres are about half worn, would I be kissing goodbye to them after a track day?

I'll be up for another trackday but pre christmas is a bit tight (too busy) as its only 3 weeks away. Post christmas will be ok at the end of January onwards as Im off to Cuba for two weeks from the 7th January.

Around 130 before i ran out of balls and hit the brakes !!! I would imagine 135 would be possible with a skilled driver ..... My mate who has a 300 BHP pulsar wasnt getting anymore than 130 either as a comparison

IIRC Conanius was hitting about 120 mph as I was hitting near 135mph, I recall I had a 15mph speed advantage on the back straight.

Mondeo on track, was a right laugh. The comment I had from the noise tester when having the sound measured was comical, "is that a diesel" :p

That's the badger! There is another day there on sat 13th for 116 all day ! Think me and nickxx might go and blast his track car round

Thought so, as I originally thought palmer only did corporate events, then had the pleasure of being able to watch people like you buzzing round the track.

After I finished uni last year I took a summer job at the airfield just over the mound on the edge of one of the long straights there driving cars, and used to go up to the mound to watch the cars fly round the track. Loved hearing the cars turning up in the morning and guessing what each one was just by the sound :D

Will have to come along when I have a car as it's only 10min drive from my parents house. Pics look good !
