Grand Theft Auto 4

D'oh looks like i might finally need an upgrade to play this :(. Been running my old faithfull p4 3.06 @ 3.8, x1950 pro 512, 3gig of ram. It plays bf2, pr, cod4 fine even at 1920x1200 with the goodies turned on. is there not a chance my old decrepid rig would run this even at low res, at least till payday after xmas?!

The old P4 3.06 from 2002? I wouldn't hold your breath. It is much slower than even a Pentium dual core 1.8GHz.

true, i got rid of an old P4 3GHz, it had... what sounded like an OC'ed HSF :D '4500 RPM' i call it the Pentium 'buzzsaw edition' it was ok when first brought but over time it wears down and gets faster

my Q6600 is MUCH better i couldn't go back lol

I also upgraded recently from a P4 3.0C to an E2180 (2GHz) which was massively quicker. Soon after I got a Q6600. The P4 3.0C was great in its day but that has long since passed.

Good luck to Southy but I think it is time to upgrade if he wants to play GTA IV.

Can't wait for this and it's one of the main reasons I upgraded my trusty Athlon 64 3200+ to a Phenom 9950.

Well this game and Empire:Total War in the new year :)

I'm just annoyed that its not available for pre-load on steam.

I can just see them only allowing you to download once released, and as such, getting 12KB/s transfer rate :(

It's been sat there for days... waiting :(

Going by the size of the download yea it's going to be a pain for those who bought it via steam - how big actually is the download because it says 16gigs of space needed ... but is that the actual download size or is it slightly smaller ?

lol theres panic across the internet on forums just like this on topics just like this. lol
will it run on my p3 lol some guy asked.
