Yeah, don't hold your breath for a patch. GTA SA was a struggle run at its launch but the mainsteam flagship systems could run it fine.
R* have dropped the ball with this. It's not like there's any major new GFX cards round the corner and core i7 has only just become available but it seems that's obsolete for their needs according to that document. To release a game only a hand full of overclocking nutters can run at a decent balance of fps and detail is a joke. I feel sorry for anyone with an expensive flagship off-the-shelf PC who expected this to run this well.
Could we go as far to say the system specs on the box are being contradicted by this online document? I'm glad I didn't buy it. My system is still a S939 opteron with an 8800 GTS 640, I have no hope in hell running it at 1680x1050 even though I can run everything but Crysis on max.
