I don't know what to make of her, or her story. I get the impression she is of quite low intelligence and was probably led into this very ill-conceived scheme to generate some quick and easy cash.
In other words she is probably stupid rather than evil.

Evil, callous, and just downright nasty. While I accept the stupidity argument to some degree that really isn't the point. What that little girl and the rest of her family were put through is.
