I don't know how evil either of them are, but they must both be very stupid because to any right thinking person, their scheme never had a hope of succeeding.

If someone retarded does an evil thing, you condemn the action they did, but recognise that they were retarded so you don't crucify them as individuals too much.

Yes they should be punished but I hope people don't go overboard and attack them on release etc. Probably a vain hope as Donovan has already been attacked while on remand.
 
fair point, I never suggested that they should be publicly stoned or anything, though they deserve a very long sentence imo. Interesting as already said how they figured the not guilty plea was gonna turn out. "We didn't know she was under the bed honest, someone else must've put her there just to frame us"??
 
You wouldn't find any jury in the world that wouldn't convict her with the profile the case has had. The public don't like being taken for fools, particularly not by people they would consider their intellectual inferiors.

It takes bad thought and character to even contemplate kidnapping and falsely imprisoning your own child.

I don't doubt that Karen Matthews has the intelligence of a dog turd but her intentions were bad from the start.

She represents a portion of society that is beneath my contempt.

Evil, callous, and just downright nasty. While I accept the stupidity argument to some degree that really isn't the point. What that little girl and the rest of her family were put through is, and all for money. Book, throw it.
 
Doesnt take a lot to know that these scum bags wernt geniune...There was always a sinister feel to the whole thing.

One of the reasons they probably did this was they most likily saw how much attention and money the McCanns were getting and thought they wanted some of that action...Only thing was...There too stupid to make it work.

It goes deeper than that though Mr B, in that Shannon Matthews is effectively knackered and stigmatised for life now. I only hope that she can make something of her life now that such a trashed influence has been removed from her life. I really feel sorry for her.
 
i dont see where they were going with this.

sounds like a pub plan that sounds great when your pee'd but then in the light of day and a sober state common sense kicks in and you realise its a stupid plan.
