The "credit crisis" isn't taking its toll on Woolworths. Woolworths was doomed because it didn't keep up with the times and demands of the consumer, nothing more, nothing less.

Keep the £... indefinately.

Er NO way. at all. Ever.

If Gordon Clown makes this country join the Euro, I will personally ASSASINATE GORDON BROWN. Thats right MI5, come and get me.

The Clown has less balls than a castrated Shemale. Lets hope he folds.

I still cant believe that Germany and Frogland would give up the biggest part of their identity.

With today's news that the pound has reached an all time low against the evil from the continent, I reiterate my earlier thoughts that this whole global economic crisis has been masterminded and instigated by those that want a single Euro state. Engineer parity and many arguments against disappear. This is a manipulation on a grand scale and I hope that our Irish brothers throw out another arm of the controlling machine, the constitution, in their next referendum. At least their government keep their promises.

No to the Euro, no to Europe and no to the Fascist One World Government!

man well if sterling will be = to euro its not good for u guys how ever its good for me as i live in ireland and i can go to n.ireland to shop  .

well uk is in euro union? but just dont have euros ? i remember when euro was first introduced and uk people were like mehh fingers and stuff. but i bet it is time now to change

Yes.

Should have been done when it was first started, when we would have had the biggest influence on strategy and what would be best for us. Now we'd probably get screwed.

A government that has no backbone, a conservative party worse, and the "I dont want the euro because I like the pound brigade", pretty much sums up what this country is. Crap.

Now is not the time to join. However we should join, if and when the respective values of the euro and the pound return to level they were at a year or so ago.

What I would have preferred, and I know I'm in a minority here, is for us to have joined many years ago, at the first opportunity we had.

same with honda pulling out of F1

they expected to be winning champions in year 2 or atleast challeneging for them because they were shoveling money into there car like it grew on trees, they found out money cant give you quick results without experience.

they didnt try to get enough sponsorship money each year because honda was putting in so much of its own money, they decided there goal wasnt possible without many years of investment and even then it would be a massive up hill battle to beat the likes of ferrari and mclaren so they pulled out of the sport.

it had nothing to do with the worlds economy they could easily have ran an f1 team on 1/3 of the budget they had for all there years back in the sport.

Only one way to fix the pound (God Save The Queen), is to get rid of this worthless outdated, ridiculous currency which is going down with the sinking ship. The butter is better on the other side, you might lose out on a few cents buying your Sun. :)

Give me lots of valid reasons why we should suffer. :p

I'm happy to have one currency - I'd suggest Pounds and Pence. Whilst we're at it, why not have a dingle language, may I suggest English...? A single parliament - London is a nice spot.
