Well, FANTASTIC news .. the PC appears (touch wood) to be 100% perfect.
So, you are all correct. You can not underestimate my sense of relief. One of the cornerstones of my thinking has always been 'water inside a PC = knackered PC'. Now I know this is not necessarily the case (especially if distilled water).
My advice to anyone that has a 'gusher' is to NOT panic .. give the PC a full week in a warm, dry room unplugged -- and then a going over with a hairdryer (not sure if it did any good -- but it takes what 5 minutes!).
I am in such a good mood it's quite unbelievable. The insides were simply a SODDEN, DRIPPING WET including inside the powersupply. They were saturated with water from the system I was in mourning for my pc's death. And now -- I'm back. 100% perfect with 1 99p item bought and replaced (and 6.99 of new water)!.Awesome!
Good to read all was well in the end.I would have thought water in PC = goner, but then again distilled water maybe not. Still, makes a case for me never to use watercooling though, I've never wanted to incase something like this happened to me.
