spec me a hard drive

I need a new hard drive. Will be used for storage and maybe windows at some point.

Just after a circa 1TB, sata2, 7200 rpm one.

Which is the fastest at the moment?
In the past I have had loud maxtors and WD, but I have an F1 and its fast and quiet, but are they still best?

You can't go wrong with an F1. As you said it's fast and quiet and I've not found anything better.

Well my F1 came this morning. Its a bargain of a HDD, and as Lux said you can't go wrong.

The reason I asked is my 750gb F1 is over a year old now (iirc) and thought faster ones might be out. I know it is pretty much a a tossup between barracuda ones and F1 ones.
Solid state and raptors are just too expensive for me.

hi mate, other than any minor differences (i.e. enhancements) from the newer F1's using the latest firmware there isn't a difference performance wise. If you want FAST, quiet & cool running it has to be an F1 (or TWO lol)
