Subaru set to pull out of WRC!

From what I have heard, there is supposedly going to be an optional "bolt on" pack made up of a specced turbo, an aero pack and a couple of other bits, that will add no more than 50bhp to a standard S2000 car, to make an S2000 WRC car. So basically not worth the extra money and effort.

Which will put it close to current WRC won't it? As atm they may about 300bhp, and current super 2000 N/A is are around 250ish.

Richards turning focus to F1 bid
Wed 17 Dec, 07:47 AM

In a twist of fate, Subaru's withdrawal from the world rally championship 'could' pave the way for David Richards to re-enter Formula One. The Japanese carmaker had collaborated with Richards' Prodrive motorsport company.

With Richards allegedly eyeing the purchase of Honda's F1 team, he told the British newspaper The Sun that this week's developments "clears the decks and gives me a bit of spare time to think about it."

"The new structure for F1 from 2010 onwards, with new regulations coming and very significant cost cutting programmes, certainly make it more appealing and far more suitable for a company such as ours," he added.

"What's on the table today makes it far more feasible."

Richards, who formerly ran the Benetton and BAR teams, almost brought Prodrive into F1 this year with a McLaren Mercedes technical package but baulked at the 'customer car' situation.

Bit shocked about this, but then again I watched WRC from about 1995-2002, when it was actually exciting and close, with the Scooby and Evo trading places in just about every single race. Brilliant stuff.

Now it's just about watching Loeb canter around the stages at his own pace, with nobody in sight. Don't get me wrong, he's a great driver, but his 5 Championships have come pretty much from having no good competition.

The FIA need to stop messing around and meddling. I found part of the fun was having all those cars with all that raw power, now it's just going to be the same car with different drivers. Why bother with the manufacturers' championship if you're going to do all this? Nuts.

That is what keep Mosely and his goons in a job..

i heard a rumour that Honda are willing to sell their F1 team for £1 to a team that can prove they have what it takes to run such a team (£300m a year?)
