WoW - lost the will to play

Hmm I'm really enjoying grinding the quests at the moment for some reason. Having not played wow for so long though it seems pretty fresh.

I actually found the levelling really fast and easy. Game is a bit too casual nowadays, but they arent going to change that.

Strange how so many people say they got bored at 73/74 - exactly the same happened to me.

Played, raided and enjoyed it up to 70 with TBC, but there's something missing from the new expansion, IMO. Shame. I'm still playing WAR, but while its fun its a different game.

Still, it means I've actually got time to get on with RL things, like going to work, and personal hygiene ;)

If you're not enjoying it any more then stop your subscription and stop playing. No point in playing if you're not enjoying it.

This. I stopped playing a couple of weeks ago after realising my newly born nephew could probably play it just as well as I can.

Northrend looks pretty sweet and the quests are much better than BC quests as a whole its just become way too casual friendly in my opinion. Nothing is really challenging any more, almost everything is given to you on a plate now.

I left WoW in may and just played Conan for a bit as I had got bored of the honor grind, and getting constantly stunlocked and r*ped by rogues in seconds on my warlock.

And I've been playing Warhammer Online since september which I have been enjoying but
My friends who are playing WoW have been saying that the northrend quests are actually a lot of fun and that Wintergrasp is a lot of fun aswell.
So I'll be going back and giving Wotlk a try over chrismas as my gf is buying me it for chrismas.

I genuinely think that with MMO's you do need to take a break from them from time or you will get burned out.

all MMOs suck, they are boring when u play in leveling up,they are only fun when you are fully capped, fully farmed and fully pimped out...problem is it takes like 6 months to get to this stage...well on silkroad online it does anyhow...oh yeah i forgot to say they take over your life..all mmos suck, they are just designed to take your cash:)

i played sro for 3 years and became one of the strongest in my server(troy) out of 3000 people but i spent about £1500 in 8 months to achieve my status..i will never play another mmo again...they are all the same lol

unless it costs £190 a month to play i dont see how you could spend £1500 for a game.

As a player since EU release, having class lead classic wow up to and through AQ40. Then in TBC class leading up to and through SWP. I can surely tell you that what you need is fun people to play with and an innovation in how you play.

I think it was suggested before but try instancing to relax or professions. I'm currently level 74 on my main, I only level when my best friend IRL plays. Another thing may be that you simply don't enjoy your class or spec. Try a reroll with some friends to try out a new class or class role, such as try tanking or healing if you currently dps.

It's a great game, but it's also easy to forget why you play with so much to do. If you do it on your own it becomes a chor, doing it with friends (irl or via interwebs) it makes it so much more fun, like 100000%.

I got bored by level 43!

But then all *** friends I started with when playing it seemed to all give up and stop playing so I was restricted to PvE. That or learn Greek so I could talk to the others on the ENGLISH server.....

WoW isn't a game it’s a lifestyle choice.

There is no pause button, no easy way to stop playing if you are in the middle of an instance / raid, door bell rings you don’t answer it, phone rings you don’t answer it etc.

To play WoW as a game, i.e. a few hours a week means you can never get to the majority of the content which requires days of play time, sever hours of commitment a night and a fair slog to get the money / items to get things like the fast mounts or epic craftables.

Some people in my old guild had 90-100+ days of play time (2160+ hours) easily racked up.

That is not a game…

I doubt people commit as much time to their hobbies in a year or even their families and friends as they do to WoW.

If you get bored with it try taking up something else like a new hobby / gym or spending the time with friends and family, heck even get a second job. Imagine what people who play WoW could achieve in the real world if they committed the time to something else.

Same thing has happened to me on several MMORPGs, generally it's from over playing or trying to force yourself to get levels.

I recently had a similar feeling in Warhammer, so rather than scenario/level, I went back and started doing tome unlocks, surprisingly good fun as well as helping out lower level characters on PQs etc. For the past 5 days that I've played I've had a great time! Now I'm ready to level but don't feel pressured into it as much.

Take a break!
