Nicely specced hatch for 3k.

What exactly is wrong with it? Sure as hell stands out more than the usual boring flat boxy style dashboards that are the norm.

But it looks so tacky, shiny plastic, odd shapes, controls laid wherever they look aesthetically random, but not actually anywhere you'd want them to be.

I just hate it. Much rather have plain and functional (so long as the build quality and soft-touch stuff is there). Germanic simplicity styling for the win.

I kind of like the e36 variant, it has a lot of e30 bits!

But the handling is somewhat random. Controllable, controllable, controllable, SNAP.

You could get an audi A3 but for 3k you are going to be looking at ones with lots of miles on the clock. And they generally look a bit tatty in that price range.

For 3k it is hard to beat the corsa or fiesta. Some of the less obvious choices are the Mazda 323, Nissan Almera, Toyota Corolla. All of which will be in much much better condition than an A3.

What do you think of the dash in the honda civic? I think thats one of the best looking and functional layouts ive seen.
