163bhp and 210lb of torques. I'm soon to have them

I would love a JCW, but unfortunatley that ups the insurance by £600, I think i'm getting off lightly with £1,600 with Bell!

Got to be gunmetal grey, with a white (+ panoramic) roof. Black looks too gangsta with a black roof, and too gay with a white one.

Only other colour to choose (IMO) is electric blue, but that got ruined when they made it a non Cooper S only colour, and of course you don't want blue.

Mate of mine just bought a 55 plate one. Its pretty good actually, corners well without being silly hard over bumps and pulls OK but isn't neck snapping fast. If its what you like then go for it! :D

160bhp and 155ft lb.
Can't see that being much fun.

Why not get something different? Its like you dumping a fat girlfriend to go out with the slightly less fat sister.

Correct, and considering I have a fault claim against my name, that's pretty reasonable (allbeit I made no claim, just the other party - I think Direct Line believe I still have NCB according to my online account thing, states I still have 1yr NCB )

£1600 reasonable? hmm...

Now I don't know you...you might be a multi millionaire...but isn't that a little steep? Haven't you got anything else to spend your cash on, perhaps saving for a house/flat deposit etc.?

Anyway good luck to ya - enjoy the car.:)

Every time I consider spending some money on something I like, someone always pipes up with something like this to me. I'm 21, this guy is even younger. Maybe we don't yet want to spend all our money on a pokey house/flat somewhere, just to "conform" and prove that we're "grown up"?
Maybe he wants to spend a bit of money on something he enjoys? Perish the thought  Enjoy your life while you can IMHO :)

Fun isn't directly proportional to speed/power.

Damn, are they the proper reasons? Looks like I was in completely the wrong mindset when I bought my pokey house :p

I can see your point but I can also see why not putting £1600 a year plus £11k on a car whilst living at home with your parents could be considered as useful advice. Especially when that car is likely to be gone in another 6 months with West left another 4 figure sum lighter.
