I agree. Mid 60s is what I'm hoping for. Which be pretty nice.

You can make anything sound good if the current car costs a grand a month on repairs. Heck you could lease an Aston Martin for that!!! Please tell me you've not factored the fact your current car is an absolute nail into your decision?!
I managed to get 59mpg from a 8 year old 1.2 Petrol over 30ish miles. Over a full tank about 52mpg so I could see it being possible if you get it on a good run.

it may be a little while. They have none in stock of the model I want, so gonna have I wait for it to be built. Still, got to be better than buying a 'new' car that may of been sitting round in a depot for 18 months.

I love the look of the new Fiesta - we've already got a MK6 Fiesta and I'm planning on buying another one (for myself) within the next few weeks, unfortunately my budget wont stretch to brand motor though
As has been said looks and colour choice are very subjective - personally I'm planning on keeping my next car purchase for a good few years so I'm not worried about depreciation, If the OP's the same on a brand new Fiesta I'm sure he'll be very happy with his choice

My colour choice is very marmite. I looked at quite a fee different colours in the showroom. Black didn't look good as it hid a lot of the angles and details. Silver is just too dull. There were some default ford colours Which you see on every model, the. There were 3 'feature' colours.
Vision blue - which looks good in photos, but was a bit girly in real life.
Green - like the one top gear reviewed. Too wacky IMO.
Tango - it looked really good in the flesh and contrasts well against the silver lights and the black trim. Plus it's quite a rare colour.
The silver ducts won't be on my car. I think that pic is a concept model.

I bought a new car once and have said I never will again, for some people it makes sense though.
I don't see the issue with it being a motorway cruiser though, some little cars are just as comfortable to drive as older barges. This will have most the toys of a 5 yr old BMW/Audi etc, the seats will probably be just as nice to sit in and it will probably feel as planted to the road.

On both my monitors it looks brown-ish? Hope that's not the case in real life?

A lot of people are saying "what have you done" without offering a better alternative for the OP's requirements. A lot of people are also being constructive though, it's just that saying "wtf" without offering a suitable alternative is a bit pointless.
OP - I do not ever plan to buy a new car let alone a Fiesta. As said it will be worth diddly squat in 5 years whereas you could have been driving 13k of second hand car in far more luxury that will be worth the same in five years, such as a BMW. I bought a pre-facelift 03 plate Mk6 Fiesta second hand from a private seller for £4.5k in 2004, and everything that was going to go wrong had been sorted by the original owner under warranty with the added bonus that there was peace of mind as it was still under warranty for another 1.5 years. The hideous depreciation had also mostly been sorted by the original owner

This car is now our (currently super reliable and cheap to run) shopping trolley for the supermarket run on Saturdays and my wife's very short commute on weekdays, and I will keep it until it falls apart or becomes too expensive to maintain.
My point is that had I purchased a new Fiesta for £10k in 2003, I would be in exactly the same position as I am now except my wallet would be £5.5k lighter. I just don't see the benefit to buying brand new.
