Grand Theft Auto 4

Thought so - just checking ;) I don't think GTA detects it so much as reads the text string contained within the CPU, or just reports what the default speed is.

The Patch update readme says that CPU speed checking is done throughout gameplay now too instead of just at game launch so FPS should be better, I will experiment and see what happens!

Hmm, why would the game need to check CPU speed to determine performance. It isn't as if the game can say to itself, hang on, the CPU is faster than I thought so I shall enable this magic tweak to make the framerate higher?

This is probably a dumb question, but where on earth do you find the other clothes shops? If there are any? Or do you only find them after missions etc.

I'm currently considering if i should install the patch. But if you get problems like this, it makes me lean towards not installing it.

I thought that you had to install the patch through live or it wouldn't allow you to keep playing, Or at least it made me install before I could carry on playing.

Got me a toy

I already had the patch installed but when I loaded the game last night Steam downloaded an update (for something GTAIV related) and all my graphics options were reset?

That happened to me and others too - but after putting the graphics options back again they have been remembered.

I lost my sound a few days ago for no apparent reason (after the patch). I fixed it by switching to game mode then back to entertainment mode, and it started working again. hope this helps
