Grand Theft Auto 4

My memory usage is only 387 out of 486, but i can't see it being a card problem if its happening on cards with more memory (ive only got 512mb), plus its random, could start 20 seconds into the game.:(

Don't think its a hardware thing. Just the software isn't utilising it properly. This is one of those engines that only processes what can be seen maybe. And if you turn around too quick it doesn't load quick enough?!

Yeah, as when you turn away from things and then turn back, you see them fade back in again, like the trees and what not.

Theres a place it always happens at when it starts (so i go there to test when i first start playing).

Its just behind that arch monument on that roundabout (got the horses on top), if you go behind there and down the bank a bit, stop at about where the gates are for the park on the right, if you stand around there and start looking around, then the bank going back up towards the roundabout does it.

Mouse movements quicker than a controller analogue movement you see ;)

Yeah it's bloody annoying now I've tried playing a few times. The very first time I started the game, watching the intro, the boat was missing! I was watching these people walking around in mid-air...

This port has skipped a few QA checks methinks.

Why don't I have these problems with a weaker graphics card than you have got *scratches head*
 
Well this is a joke.

Never had a game cause problems on my PC, rock solid normally, very lean build.

Yet GTA IV purchased on DVD just crashes to desktop every 10 minutes or so, what is this junk or am I missing something vital?

Updated to v1 patch, updated video driver, updated .net to 3.5 patched XP to SP3.

That patch released a while ago has really borked thing's my end, can't even load the damn game up anymore.

O.K....Really annoying now =/

I started to get that last night actually......popped in every now and then for a split second...still annoying.

This is all after the patch actually...Knew I shoulda steered away from it :p

Can't even run the thing any more....just brings up the dos box then closes, then nudda.

EDIT: I want to play :( Instead of trying to fix the game myself =/

Really cannot be bothered to re-install, been sat here for the past hour trying various thing's and the game just will not load.

Woooooooo for patches.
