Will be getting a back up drive in the new year, was considering the Velociraptor but this looks worth serious consideration. The 146 gig tickles my fancy.

You need a controller for it, its not a regular SATA drive.

Go for the Velociraptor, smple and fast. Wish I had waited until the Velociraptor was released, but I needed a drive before so got the Raptor.

Oh, it's a SAS drive.
Not 100% sure why you'd want the cost of a SAS drive in a non enterprise/server environment.

or you could upgrade to i7 and use an ASUS P6T with SAS ports built-in...

Could do m8 but I've spent a small fortune upgrading and just have to stop somewhere, sound card, drive and monitor and that is it!

Wish, O how I wish I had got the Q9550 now though. Still, musn't grumble.

Yes, it will defo be the veli after Christmas / new year, maybe prices will drop a tad.
