How big is your turkey/duck/chicken etc.

We've got a huge goose from local butcher, no idea of cost (tho there was a £20 deposit:eek:) or weight as i'm not getting involved this year...

About a 16lb turkey to feed 5 from a local farm. Personally I'd rather eat something I will enjoy for xmas dinner. Don't see why people eat about the worst meat going on xmas day, so for myself I've got a 5 and a half pound leg of lamb which I will cook on the BBQ xmas day.

Im coming to yours mate.

We're having goose, grown and killed locally, which I will be cooking with spiced pickled pears and chestnuts. The fat will keep us in gorgeous roast potatoes for a while.

9 people at last count. Don't know the weights off the top of my head (they aren't overly large), but we've got two days of eating. My Sister and her fiancé can't make it down until Boxing day, so we'll be having another 'Christmas' dinner then too.

kettle bbq for the win?

A what now?

Actually we were thinking of using a bbq and a crock pot but i don't know if that will work or not.

They're turning on the gas in the homes of the elderly etc first and said some homes will be without gas for Christmas day. Luckily we have a small camp gas cooker.

Lol our little 1.02kg guinea fowl sounds piddling next to some of your beasts, but its just for two of us for Xmas day so it's enough... got another one in the freezer for New Years too.
