Got my Ma to pick me up from work today as I had left my own in town after last nights work "binge session" :D

Anyway, leaving work she was going on about not liking driving in the dark any more, everything looks more glaring than it used to..
A couple of junctions later I piped up with I wish you would be more assertive and not hesitate so much, if you are going to go then go, if not stay on the bloody brakes"

Great relationship we have.. :D

All peace and quiet on the motorway the rest of the journey home and we get up the slip road to the top where you can't see right very well as some dim wit at the council has decided to put solid barriers up that you can't see through, so you can't "time" your exit onto the roundabout as you can't see what's coming any more.
So she stops (sort of) so I start saying " There you go again, make your bloody mind u...... BANG...
A Volvo rear ends us..
Right then was probably not the time to say "and that's what happens when you do that" but I said it anyway. :D

Cue me grovelling in the dark inspecting the rear bumper for marks and the boot floor for any crinkles.. Luckily not a scratch. and then spending the rest of the trip home with her snivelling :( Oops.

What's with this anyway? ******* idiots. You should tell the police that they are causing accidents.

They do that to all the roundabouts here.

I think it's supposed to slow people down and stop them entering the roundabout without slowing to almost a stop but I can't see how it is anything other than dangerous.

LMAFO :D

Was it at all in jest, or purely anger? Bit harsh if the latter but I still lol'ed :D

And yes I feel your anger for the utterly cretinous positioning of bollards, brick walls and shrubbery right up to roundabouts. Are they trying to cause more congestion?

Probably a classic case of driving the car in front. Shouldn't have happened, and entirely his fault - what would have happened if somebody ran out and she stopped rather than just been indecisive?

In brum they used to have bushes that stopped about 6 feet before the roudabout to stop you approaching at 40mph but so that you could see to go. This was fairly sensible, but now the bushes have grown they haven't cut them back and there are a number of islands that you have to stop at if you're in the outside lane becasue you cant see until your bonnet is actually sticking out. Madness.

I can only assume the barriers (that go along the whole length of the bridge) are solid so that debris from the roundabout / road above cannot get thrown onto the motorway below.
They've used up all but 6" of path to put all this on.
Crazy..

No anger or joking, it was more a statement of fact, a bit like one of Harry Enfields annoying characters.. "I don't believe you wanted to do that!"

Ah it seems these barriers you talk of are not what I (or others) imagined.
I was talking about barriers which councils have been putting up on the entry to roundabouts design with the sole purpose of stopping you seeing what's coming.

They're going up everywhere, see pic http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/N...29/feb2608barriersatroundabouts/?&R=EPI-98835

Incidently they are meant to reduce rear end shunts. Lol what a joke.

OH MY GOOD GOD. what a stupendously dumb idea that is..
The ones I refer to are not that bad thankfully.

Haha, it's awesome being proved right like that, at least there was no damage done and possibly even a lesson learnt... although probably not.
