What HDTV Are You Using With Your X360 & PS3?

sammy plasma 42" - dont use game mode - i use DYNAMIC for gaming and move mode for sdtv ! everything looks lifelike in dynamic - vibrant colours etc.... im pretty careless with the set as well and no retention so far. :)

I use a Panasonic 42PZ70. I previously used a 40" Samsung LCD. Very little difference in game, but the Panasonic is massively better for watching TV and movies.

I was under the impression that the gaming mode makes colours inaccurate, or has this changed on more recent models?

It makes games look a little bright, however I like that. The clarity it gives you though due to no blur helps no end at spotting distant movement on FPS games.

Some games (eg GTA4) do look crap on game mode, but other like COD, Forza and Halo look miles better, GOW2 is slightly better with more detail outline, it seems to provide a more colourful picture in every game though.

The reds were a little pink when I first got it, however the first firmware upgrade (via USB) solved that.

I'll update though once the Kuro gets some Xbox action

Samsung 5 series 40" delivered only yesterday so I am still tweaking, To say it gave me a hard on is an under statement, GRID looked Stunning & I am using VGA till later on today when I get my HDMI lead.

the wife uses the sony bravia 40W4000 and she loves it. Both for her xbox360 and the ps3. once the settings are put in right its a very good tv.

ps3/360/wii on a 46inch sharp aquos (x20e). 1080p. cost me £699

Watched forgetting sarah marshall other day and the luxury room he stays in has my tv in :D

Thanks for that, I'm looking at an led backlit samsung for my next tv and it's good to have some first hand feedback :)

The Sony 40W4000 is a great tv for gaming as it has 0ms input lag which is ideal for gaming both on and offline. Most Tvs have around 30ms or even 60ms when not in game mode..

I've been reading Avforums and they say the 4500 has zero lag but the 4000 has lag. Is that right. I will buy one or the other depending on sale prices after xmas. Lots of stores are going to be desperate to shift tv's.

From what I have seen when the wife plays, I haven't noticed any lag from anything she uses. she plays rpg, racing and fighting games so a wide variety.

Took delivery of my 40W4500 yesterday and so far am quite pleased with it.

Good contrast and black levels although I'd have liked more options for tweaking the saturation of individual colours.

I was gonna get a Panasonic 42PZ85 or the Pioneer Kuro 4280XD but decided on the LCD as I use it for my PS3 a helluva lot. Picture quality on SD sources is good and on an HD source is stunning.

I occasionally notice slight backlight bleed when the screen is blank though so it might be going back for an exchange.

Talk is that prices are at their lowest now.

After Xmas the prices are predicted to actually go up as manufacturers cut back production due to no one buying them

The clearances we are now seeing is so shops can clear their stock - Tvs are a expensive, highly depreciating stock asset
