STEAM - I FLUID GAME - APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

I contacted steam support recently, they were IMO too helpfull and made me feel like a valued customer, my problem was sorted in a matter of hours

:D

Valve are great - I managed to get a refund (despite them having no obligation to do so) purely because I didn't enjoy a game I bought on Steam.

Just be extra friendly and patient, this has always worked for me in any situation. (and yes, I have worked in tech support :D )

Extremely valuable life lesson to be learnt from this, if you're an aggressive abusing **** then you will not win any favours from people, if you are polite and understanding then things get resolved much quicker. It's simple really.

lovin some of the replies in here lOLS. Op got owned on Steam and on here, all in all a good out come for all :)

you know what.. you all seem to be saying this above but..

every time i have a problem i act really polite, nothing like on these forums, i speak quitely slowly and smile even!!!.. in return no-one gives a ***** i get lies/nonsense and excuses and they take their sweet time, like going off to take care of something or whatever..

when i act agressive, i get quality service in record time..

ofcourse agressive on the internet/phone doesnt work, but face to face it certainly does, for me anyway.

thats what i have learned ^^ in bold is really important!
I dont think this guy is ready yet for PC gameing, back to the xbox 360 pal:)

I work in a retail shop and regularly the morons who kick off and start raising their voice, swearing and acting like a spoilt brat invariably get told with a smile, politely that there's nothing we can realistically do for them bar what procedure allows. The really nice people who are genuine, and don't immediately start off on the offensive etc. generally get their issue resolved and then some due to manager authorisations on customer service gestures :)

In all there really is no need to be abusive to a member of staff, if you are unhappy with their dealing, go through the manager, and politely explain your dissatisfaction and subsequent inclination towards negative feedback in relation to the service.

I guess we're talking from opposite sides of the fence and probably slightly biased in our experiences :D also I guess it depends on the person in question, I've been faced with aggressive customers before and found myself the best way to deal with them is to understand with them, if they calm down things tend to progress much smoother :D

He's not ready for that either..give him a Wii.

I dont think giving him physical stimulus is a good idea..

"Ooooo wii.. lets play.. golf..

OMG THIS NOTHIN LIKE GOLF I HIT HOLE IN 1!!!111! WTFTRADING STANDARDS LAW!

Refundpls!"

HAY GUSY WE OWNZED HIM GOOD AMIRITE OLOLOL

This thread has been a pathetic display of cowardice and "me too".

Well done. You owned a guy who's obviously quite young and incapable of defending himself (even without his suspension). You must all be very proud of yourselves.

Happy Christmas.

I work in a customer service type role and i despise this type of email, yes steam are in the wrong but you are losing your temper with them too easily and they will just ignore you. If anypne sent me an email like that i wouldn't bother replying until i've deal with the mail from polite customers.

tbh thats not right

thats like some guy comming in the store and being

"oi, i want a refund this ****** broke down"

me = have a seat over there i will see you right at the end

" what you on i want my refund"

me= punch him several times in the face, and take the item and begin to try to kill him with it until security drags me away..

i then begin to threaten security and start poking my fingers in their eyes

luckily i have some absinthe 90% so i decide, let me burn everything down, so i cover everyone in it and set it on fire, i set everything on fire, and smash all the perfume bottles untill the whole department store is on fire

after the security guards have been stabbed to death by the broken bottle i run around trying to find random people to attack...

but ohh noes police with guns shoot me in the back of the face
