BTW Lord-Jaffa, have you missed the massive PS3 christmas price list thread? Ive just got quite a few titles only released in the last 2 months for £20 - PS3 games are easily found at the same prices as X360 games...

I just picked up LBP for £20 and waiting to resistance 2 to come back in stock :D

It is very average. You are still a fanboy though for preffering the 360 over a PS3 :p
 
if its noise you're worried about then it isnt so straight forward.
the 360 fan kicks in quite often and the disk drive seems fairly noisy.
the ps3 is silent most of the time but when the fan does kick in...its very loud.....how often it kicks in will depend a lot on your room temp.
ive only heard the ps3 fan kick in a few times.

360 = less noise - more often
ps3 = more noise - less often
 
In my experience PS3's fan never get's louder than the 360. It's loud at full whack yeah, but not as loud as the 360.

But I can only go on a 60gb PS3 and 2 different generations of 360. None of which are launch generation
 
My 60gb is a lot louder than my 360 when the fans go up to level 3, but i have a BenQ dvd drive in my 360 which is a lot quieter than my old hitachi.
 
If you don't mind missing out on some gaming experiences exclusive to the 360 (it has an extensive library), and don't already have a bluray player, I would say the PS3 is the one to go for right now.
 
i'd say the 360 is the only choice when it comes to games, but check out youtube and "Hitler Gets The Red Ring of Death" to find out how many of us feel when we get our first Red Ring of Death. not a nice experience. thats when a PS3 comes in handy, helps you get through the withdrawal symptoms.

what a ridiculous list of pros and cons.

sorry but i think this is a decision you will need to make on your own with a bit more research on games and media capabilities and what you want out of a console. Check the games for each console.

Had my 360 from launch and love it to bits. I have just been out and bought a ps3 and there are many things i dislike about it. Installs for demos and small content for one and some games on psn that have no demos. I only wanted it for a couple of exclusives and the blue-ray and im happy enough with that. Any multi platform game will be straight for the 360 tho.

Screw all the pros and cons of each console!

Both are just as good as each other, get the console that most of your friends use.

That way you wont get bored :P

ps3 all the way..its a bit like a c64 and zx spectrum..one has more games..but the other is more powerfull,games will be better in the end and will last longer before its phased out..history repeating itself..same with the atari st and amiga
