Midnight Mass. Can't find one?, have we all gone mad?.

i'm of the same opinion as the OP, i'm not religious but it would be interesting to go. :)

How? Listen to a bunch of dribblers rant on about a load of rubbish?

Went to enough religious crap when I was in primary school, it was forced upon us however.

Walking to that **** church every week to sing hymns and listen to some deluded rubbish, oh my it was cringeworthy.

I went to a catholic school, took part in all parts, left school and decided that it really wasnt for me. Where is the proof. There isnt even circumstantial evidence tbh.

Nearest Cathedral to me (Ripon) still does - not that it's that good. Christmas services have gone downhill since all the readings were 'updated' :(

I don't think this thread should be allowed to derail itself into a religious debate as there are plenty of threads for that already.

I remember going when I was younger. The experience is quite good to be honest, it brings a brief sense of community and you don't have to take all the stuff said to heart if you're not religious.

I'm not religious at all but still like spending time in cathedrals, churches and the like when I'm on my travels. It's amazing what beautiful architecture and other stuff is created because of people's beliefs and love/fear of their deity.

Agreed. It does get old.

We'll shut up as soon as Jehovah's witnesses stop coming to the door or as soon as we stop getting leaflets handed to us in the street about finding god.

I understand the OPs reasons for wanting to go but I think he'll be disappointed.

So, did you manage to find one?

Church experiences are very peculiar for me, I've attended various ceremonies out of courtesy in the past but they always leave me a little frustrated. I just see several intelligent people in a room together being duped. It's very strange.
