Was Jesus born on 25th December?

Santa's main distribution center is a sight to behold. At 4,000,000 square feet (370,000 m2), it's one of the world's largest facilities. A real-time warehouse management system is of course required to run such a complex. The facility makes extensive use of task interleaving, literally combining dozens of DC activities (putaway, replenishing, order picking, sleigh loading, cycle counting) in a dynamic queue...the DC elves have been on engineered standards and incentives for three years, leading to a 12% gain in productivity...The WMS and transportation system are fully integrated, allowing (the elves) to make optimal decisions that balance transportation and order picking and other DC costs. Unbeknownst to many, Santa actually has to use many sleighs and fake Santa drivers to get the job done Christmas Eve, and the TMS optimally builds thousands of consolidated sacks that maximize cube utilization and minimize total air miles.

I was quoting a typical OCUK forum style response. Notice the " ".

No, a quote is written by somebody else, you wrote that nobody else, and you used the lords name as part of a mickey take which is taking it in vain.

You're a **** catholic.

And I've never actually seen anyone write something like that except when "quoting a typical response", i.e making it up.

Well I know what I meant, that's why I quoted a typical made up response due to the large amount of religion bashing that goes on, summing up what a lot of people say into a quotation. You'd be mad not to see it around here. You're not exactly a good Samaritan either, religious or not, who goes round accusing people of being (insert word here)? Oh, and I never claimed to be a perfect Catholic...don't know where you got that idea from! Hah! I really CBA with this petty argument Tefal.

Hey I'm not the one dooming my self to hell by taking the lords name in vain.

And you cannot quote something you made up. That's not what a quote is.

And you are a crap catholic, a nun would beat you silly for saying OMG (and what it stands for) and then the rest of that sentence, especially because of how you used it.

And the Samaritan helped an injured man he didn't correct his cussing, so saying I'm not a good Samaritan for my wording is a very poor link.

Good for you. and no one but you mentioned perfect, I said catholic.

Dam its a good job i dont believe in jesus or god or i would be taken a right beating from you tefal

Of course he wasn't. December is winter in Israel, so the shepherds would not have been out in the fields with their sheep (as the story tells us); they would have herded their flocksinto sheepcotes for the night, and slept in a tent nearby.

It was most likely summer, which is about as far from the 25th of December as you can possibly get.

Only if the there was Shepherds at the birth.

This was a very interesting documentary on the other night -

DOCUMENTARY: The Nativity Decoded
On: Channel 4 (104)
Date: Thursday 25th December 2008 (Already shown)
Time: 19:30 to 21:30 (2 hours long)

A recent survey found that only 12 per cent of adults could answer four simple questions about the Christmas story, while a quarter of Church of England clergy have admitted that they don't believe in the virgin birth. Many believers, including theologian Robert Beckford, find parts of the Nativity story perplexing: who were Mary and Joseph, how was Jesus born to a virgin, why was he in a manger, and what were shepherds and 'wise men' doing there? Now Beckford embarks on a quest to uncover the real meaning of the Christmas story for himself.

No, they could be at the birth without being in the fields.

My point is that the record says they were out in their fields, keeping their flocks by night. But if this had been winter (as the December date requires), they would not have been out in the fields.

So the traditional interpretation that Jesus was born in the depths of winter, is not true to the story as told.
