Quantumeazer Space gun! 18+

We don't know if it is legally classed as an imitation firearm or not, we would need case law to confirm that. It is shops wishing to be safe rather than sorry.

I guess, better safe than sorry - but I would point that picture out on the box at the till!

There's nothing prohibiting someone over 18 and buying it for a 10 year old, just against the 10 year old buying it for themselves.

They class that as an imitation firearm? Ridiculous.
Are you kidding? The Quantumfazer is a deadly weapon in the right hands, and a downright dangerous tool in the hands of an untrained individual. Imagine if Gareth.e got jumped and tried to defend himself? Not only would he deatomise his attackers, but risk tearing a hole in the space fabric which would have catastrophic results.

Whichever clerk refused to sell him this weapon should be handed a medal.

To the user, not to the public. So it is irrelevant. Do you want to ban fatty food as well in case someone eats too much and has a heart attack? That is actually less far fetched than bannining imitation weapons in case someone robs and bank and then gets shot.

So I am right they can't hurt anyone, the police can shoot them, but that's completley irrelevant. I could say I had a bomb strapped to me on a plane, we would then have to ban clothes too in case someone shot me. You'd end up like equilibrium where you ban emotion to stop people commiting crimes.
Have you lost your mind?

No one is saying that they support the way this legislation is being used or infact that we should even ban them... I never once said that they should be banned or that in anyway we should start banning everything else in the world...

But let's look at what you said and make sure you know what you were actually saying;
imitation firearms can't hurt anyone

Firstly, yes they can, in the same respect that you could kill someone with a paper clip imitation firearms can infact hurt and kill people.

But we'll assume for arguments sake (and as i#m sure you intended), that you meant imitation firearms cannot hurt anyone as a result of them being imitation firearms. In which case they can bring harm physically to someone who may be misusing* it, those close to the person misusing* it, and/or mental harm to those related to the person misusing* it.

*or suspected of, seen or perceived as misusing it.

Still neither myself or the other poster that replied to you mentioned the legislation, banning or control of said imitation firearms, we were both merely pointing out that your statement of "imitation firearms can't hurt anyone" was incorrect.

It was clearly obvious what I meant, and you were being pedantic. You can say anything can hurt someone if you go far fetched enough.
