From reviews i have read it isn't worth getting the RB2 instruments (or atleast drums) if you've already got the RB1 instruments as the velocity sensitive pads are hardly worth the price when you've already got the first gen equipment.

Best just getting the Game and using your old instruments.

I don't have the first game yet though, I am looking to buy rock band 2 and am wondering whether I should get 1st gen or wait until 2nd gen instruments come out. Is there a release date?
