I know, sorry, My mums been getting hysterical because she cant contact my brother who's flown to america to persue a relationship with a **** he met over ebay.

Im not in a good mood at all.

Cant go out with freinds either otherwise mum'll be home alone on bloody new years night.

You could make a short series sitcom on your family by now surely :p

I am.... are those your mothers shoes?

:O

My uncle is one of *those* people, he puts pieces of tissue in the cracks in the wall. And he faces the TV to the wall when he wants to have a conversation with you.

Every helicopter is meant for him etc. I'd love to live my life like that, tried it once but got bored. Paranoia is really boring, surprisingly.

Your "uncle" hmm :p

I saw some lanterns a couple of summers ago, and they looked exactly like you described. It took a few minutes to realise what they were and just shows how people who just jump to conclusions without thinking think they are space ships.

I didn't think they were space ships at all (hence why I never mentioned them!) just wanted to know if anyone else has seen them :) Gosport is the Naval/MOD centre for everything so it wouldn't surprise me if it was something they're doing but sadly, looks like it wasn't something as exciting :p

i saw those on the 30th at about 4pm looking north from the i.o.w southern downs, quite low on the horizon. could have been in newport, cowes, on the water or in gosport direction. no idea what they were but they just floated in the low sky dimming and getting brighter.

maybe torches in baloons filled with helium? dunno

i was outside my house at 12.10 waching the fireworks and i saw a fire like ball in the air it was moving in a straight line and making no sound.it did not look anything like a firework and was not a plane it was moving too slow.i thought it might be a ballon or a lantern but after watching it for 60 or so seconds i had second thoughts.it went behind a row of houses and it didnt come out at the end of the row as i was expecting it to .this was in reading.i dont know what it was.its just come on talk sport it was spotted all over the country by all acounts

Run along everyone, it was just me wasting £100 worth of fire lanters :P

J/k

(but I am tempted to do that someday)

Got home from Fireworks down town and just as I'm parking the car up into the house I notice 2 orbs floating across the sky high up, they were amber in shade and seemed to be going dimmer and brighter rapidly oscillating.

There were no other flashing lights like you see on choppers and planes.

There were no other sounds being made.

After I got out of the car I noticed a 3rd one further behind the first 2, it was following the exact same path in the sky behind the first 2. As all 3 went over the horizon a 2nd set of 3 went past in the exact same way following the exact same path except this time 1 was travelling faster than the one in front so overtook it whilst the one at the back went higher into the clouds.

After this 3 vanished over the horizon a final set of 3 did the exact same thing as above, again, one was moving faster than the other 2.

What were these 9 balls of amber oscillating light! anyone else see them? (Gosport/Portsmouth area) it was around 12:30 if that helps!

Yeah I've seen something similar to this and it's probably the same thing. They just look like orange balls in the sky that go very dim and very bright.... They're Chinese lanterns I think. :)

+1
It explains the colour and the shape. The wind will also have caused the rapid oscillations.

I'm not sure why but they remind me of when i was young, attatching various toys to a plastic bag and throwing them out a window because they had a 'parachute'

I recall my mum tried to make one of those lanterns, too, and it set on fire :/
