BMX

It arrived yesterday and I spent most of the day trying to put it together. I eventually got round to it and after a bottle of port and a few tins of beer last night I took ti for it's maiden voyage. Not the best idea to take it down a flight of stone steps straight away but I must say, I had fun bouncing my face off the ground.

But yeah, I love it. I can't do any tricks or anything and I doubt I ever will be able to but it's still a laugh to ride it:D

post some pics up :P

here is mine :)

I need to fiddle with the brake adjustment to get it right. It's a real pain in the ass but needs to be done.

Really nice bike there Scuzi. I'm looking to buy a BMX myself but will have to get a second hand one because of my money limits. I've found this thread really helpfull in my search for a bike though, really nice tips off everyone. I'm only looking to spent no more than £100, just to get me started. Then if I really enjoyy it and get into BMXing i'll splash out on something better and more expensive.

What's wrong with bumping an old thread? I enjoyed reading it :) It has got me thinking about getting a trials bike for the summer.

So scuzi, have you been out on it much?

Lol, I realise I did rush my post a bit there, since I'm now also interested in giving it a try:o.

Oh oh, im so going to get my Mongoose Expert 2000 out. i miss that bad boy! probably needs some oil by now i'd think :/

After making myself look like the aforementioned piece of safety equipment, I'd like to apologise.

Does anyone know of any good areas around Liverpool to do some BMXing and Trials?

Anyone here brakeless? I've noticed plenty of people round this way riding without brakes, have considered it... :|
I'm never going too fast anyway and shoes are there to be wrecked...

I've just got back into mountain biking after a few years out (used to ride trials).

I'd like to get into some dirt jumping, is there a particular difference between a BMX for street and one for dirt? I understand there will be certain differences between one for track racing but what about those disciplines?

Get a jump/freeride bike. Like a Giant STP or something for starters

I used to have an all white Mongoose with black Skyways when I was a kid, it was ****ing awesome and still would be today.

Aye, could do, I've just spent quite a lot on a Specialized Enduro SL so just wanted a cheap second hand BMX really.

I was having a look around before, and it seems that the jump bikes that didn't specify themselves for dirt where a bit cheaper, although that might have just been the selection I was looking at.
