The nightmare that is town center shopping

I guess going into the town center must be pretty stressful for you guys given that everyone you meet seems to fill you rage.

Why do you think 99% of what I buy is from online. I go into town for 2 reasons, the first is clothes, but I know what I want and where I go, so thats usually an hour tops. The second is the Games Workshop, unfortunately its smack bang in the middle of town, so I have no choice but to go to town for that one.

Went sales shopping in Meadowhall the day after boxing day and there were two mothers stood in the doorway to a shop with prams. One at the right side of the door, and one in the left, making it impossible for the hordes of shoppers to get in and out.

They could see that people were getting ****** off with this because people were uttering comments as they went past. But they just stood there completely oblivious to what was going on. Stupid *****.

I don't know if that's meant as some kind of dig, but yeah shopping in town, especially at this time of year is stressful because of all the 'tards. Like Stellios I know what I want and where from. I walk at a decent pace, with my eye's open. I don't understand why others can't seem to manage that.

The type that infuriate me the most are the middle-aged women shopping for mens clothes.

Not only are they almost guaranteed to be unattractive, they are grumpy, look at you like they own the men's section and more often than not aren't looking where they're going or stand so far back from the clothes that they take up the entire aisle.

They also always manage to be in front of the exact item you want to look at, but have an item from elsewhere in the store that they can't decide whether to buy or not.

I HATE shopping at this time of year. TK Maxx is usually the best place to go at this time of year because they don't have a sale as such, therefore less bargain hunting morons - their clothes are always dirt cheap.

I think they have all been mentioned. I start getting really stressed some times and can see why people start shooting people in malls in the US :p.

hate those that just stop in front of you the most, but slow shoppers in general just **** me the **** off, when i go anywhere near town i make sure i know where i'm going and in what order, and i walk at a very brisk pace, so it really annoys me having these meandering berks wobble left and right as they move forward at the speed of mold growth

Stopping at the top of escalators, usually old people... what are you meant to do for heaven's sake, there's nowhere to go, and more people arriving to fill the limited space. bloody coffin dodgers.

Nah not meant as a dig or anything, just we know the general public can be a bit dim witted and know it'll take longer than it should to go to the shops, so when I go expecting to be held up by them it doesn't really bother me much as I expect everyone to be shuffling round slowly.

Yeah, those who take forever to get their money out even though they've been waiting in the queue for 10 minutes are pretty lame.

as probably already stated. the big family's you see standing in the middle of the highstreet having some sort of bloody reunion. get out the way fgs!

i dont know if this happens in the uk or not, but it happens here!

Met up in my mum in MK the other night after we went our separate ways for a few hours of shopping.

When I got back to her the first thing I said was 'I just want to drop a hand grenade in every damn pram, so they will all blow up and let us normal people actually shop rather than sitting in a traffic jam'.

N.B. Woman close by with child in pram looked horrified after overhearing.

I smiled :D

I have a 11month old so we need to take the pram with us when shopping (Normaly buggy but it's cold atm) now thats fine but I hate it when the kid can walk or is walking but they take a massive pram just to ensure they get a seat on a bus.

I hate it when there is about 5 people just chatting away in front of the shop door :S

People who are walking and then stop :O why? move to the side!
