Andy Murray does not fool me. I'm sure his PR machine are trying desparately to get him loved by the English. Not Me.
thats not changing the numbers on the cheques from the tournements he plays so I guess he couldn't give a damn what you think about him.
I'm English, every day i dislike England, and the people here more and more. I don't hate them all but theres a growing number of scum here, wheres it writen you have to love everything english to be a good person.
he's really said nothing to look like he's anti england, as far as I remember he said he wouldn't care if the english footie team got knocked out, being that we're quite happy to see other home nations lose in any sport I don't see that as a big deal. even if he does hate england, so?
I wouldn't think any less or more of him if he loved england, would you? Frankly I would think much less of him if he dug a small hole in the ground and "loved" England the way people seem to think he should, personally I think that would be wrong, I mean, not as bad as the guy that "loves" his bike, but close.
Oh dear ... can we have no banter nowadays.
Some people need to get a life ... one of the press guys mocked the fact that Scotland didn't qualify with a question to Murray, so Murray answered back with a tongue in cheek reply.
There is zero evidence in that article to suggest he hated England, and if he did who cares.
Being Scottish myself, I AM PROUD THAT ANDY MURRAY WILL BE THE BEST BRITISH TENNIS PLAYER SO FAR.![]()
I think it's safe to say Federer is no longer the dominant force in tennis. He hasn't improved his game much over the last year or two while the others have. People will no doubt say his level has dropped but it's simply a case of the other three improving so much that they can now match and beat his best tennis.
I, like a lot of people, thought Federer would easily go on and break every tennis record going but with the competition he now has that'll be very difficult to achieve.
I think Murray will win at least one Grand Slam this year. Both Federer and Nadal dont seem to be the forces they once were (feels a bit bizarre saying that about Nadal).
I used to watch Fed matches quite a bit - he was ****** invincible! Every single shot he seemed to be able to make the ball dance any way he liked. It was like an art form with him - he was The Master imo the best tennis player of all time. Maybe he's a victim of his own invincibility.
Now i dont know what has happened to him

48 matches undefeated on grass 55 matches unbeaten on hard courts... 2004 - 2007 he was unstoppable - but most of 2008 and recently he has been a shadow of his former self....
true other players have improved (nadal/murray) but imo if Federer is playing at his best then no-one can get close to him. I think though - this will never happen...he's reached his zenith...the fairytale is over.
I read he made 20+ unforced errors in the defeat to Murray...the Federer of old would have made ZERO.
So what has happened to him? Is it old age? He's what 28 this year?? Is it confidence? (remember his obliteration at the hands of Nadal at the french open final was he the same after that?
If this continues then Fed will be lucky to win 1 of the 4 grandslams. US is probably his best bet.
Retirement on the cards?
p.s. why is it whenever i see a clip of Murray winning a match it IS his opponent making an error for Murray to win
You know what i find strange is after 2007 when he won 3 majors he was unbeatable then the tennis players have a couple of months off over christmas. I know at the start of 08 he was ill for a while but something in his game happened over them couple of months. I just find it strange that he wwent from ALMOST unbeatable to quite beatable by the top 5 players in the space of 2 months. It is like he hasn't been able to find his game ever since.

Murray beats Roger Federer for the second time in his career in Dubai but goes out in the quarters, and then loses to Tommy Haas at the year's first Masters Series event in Indian Wells.
Federer: "He's going to have to grind very hard for the next few years if he keeps playing this way. He tends to wait a lot for the mistake of the opponent.
"He stands way far behind on the court and that means you've got to do a lot of running. I gave him the mistakes today but I think overall, over a 15-year career, you want to look to win a point more often than for an opponent to miss.
"That's what served me well over the years but who knows, he might surprise us all and do it for 20 years. I don't think he's changed his game a whole lot since I played him in the Bangkok final [in 2005]. "Not that I'm disappointed but I really would have thought he would have changed it in some ways."
